Thanks to everyone who left comments on my previous post where I boo-hooed over the alleged discrepancy between how I view myself and how the engagement pictures turned out. You’ve all been very supportive, which means SOOO much to me because I don’t have many women in my life to turn to. Anyway, here are a few proofs from my bridal session this weekend with Roger Broussard Photography in New Iberia, Louisiana. (he is a friend of the family and BFF/BM Shelly’s father)
Will you please give me your HONEST (really!) opinion? The pictures are done and over with, but I can still make changes for the big day. I see too much going on between my jewelry, dress, veil, and glasses (which are non-negotiable. They stay!) What do you think? And while we’re on it, what about my makeup? I specifically asked for matte eyeshadow, which you can clearly see I did not get. Should I opt for makeup in warmer brown/apricot hues instead?

I think with the style and top of your dress, a bare neckline would be lovely. And don’t loose that hat, I love it! Very Carrie Bradshaw 😉

You look stunning! Although the cocktail hat is very fun, I think it clashes with the beautiful lace on your dress. It seems a bit out of place.

I think your overall look is great except for the hat. As fun as it is I just think its a bit much with all the lace on your dress.

very pretty! i would lose the hat and choose a necklace with no pendant.

You would need a much more simple, modern dress to rock that hat.
I say lose the necklace and hat.

I agree about possibly losing the necklace and hat. And I like your own suggestion of more natural tones for the makeup 🙂

i love your hair and makeup!!! i say no necklace at all and not hat… perhaps a birdcage veil??

I think you look beautiful. If YOU like all of the accessories then keep them. I voted to keep them all but you have to feel good about it. 🙂

I agree with the ladies that are saying lose the necklace! Too much going on! =] Everything else is great and the hat is fun!
Personally for me, I’d save the hat for the reception and have a cute headpiece or headband for the ceremony!

You look beautiful! And good for you for choosing to rock your glasses on your day! I’m assuming you wear them daily, so why try to look like someone you’re not, right? 🙂
I do agree however about the hat. It’s super cute and would look fabulous with a different style dress. With the lace, it unfortunately clashes. The necklace is lovely as well, but I do think it would be best to opt for something simpler. Your dress is so stunning that you need to make it the star of the show! Know what I mean?

I think you look great. 😉
Love the dress, it’s very elegant and classic. I think because of the fact that the bolero makes it busy around your neck, the pearls could go but I do love the pendant… maybe on a delicate silver chain?
The hat is cool and funky, but doesn’t go with the classic dress.. sorry! I’d change that for a veil, but something very simple.
I agree with @littlemissmango: your dress is stunning and the rest should be very subtle touches.
And well, you noted the makeup yourself.. make some test runs and see how it turns on on pictures..
You’ll be a gorgeous bride; and I think the idea of doing the bridal portraits before the wedding and asking for feedback on your look while you have everything on is brilliant. 🙂

You look amazing! I think since your dress is so pretty and full of lace, you really don’t have to “dress up” the look you know? I think a bare neckline would be awesome and the hat, while it is AWESOME, just doesn’t fit the style. You are still rocking it though!

You look awesome! I’m with alot of the PP’s, I would loose the hat and the necklace. I feel like theres alot going on up top and it detracts from your gorgeous dress.

your pics are so beautiful! i think the hat is too much but everything else looks great. Congrats!
