This is a post just for fun – I just wanted to see where UK bees tend to honeymoon, as most of the discussion I see on the boards is based on US brides.
Where are you going? Are you taking a mini-moon? Do you have awesome stuff planned?
Let me know so I can live vicariously through you all! (As you may have guessed, I am a ways off honeymoon planning yet!)

we went to Kuala Lumpar and Bali – It was amazing! Perfect mix of things to do and relaxation.

Me and my Fiance are doing a 2 week cruise around the Caribbean a month before our wedding and then 2 weeks in a villa in Spain for our honeymoon xx

- Wedding: May 2016 - Sussex, UK
We went to Bali with a 3 day stop in Singapore. So much to do in Bali, I want to go back. DH wanted to go to Mauritius but I thought I’d get bored!

We went to Cuba for two weeks. Because of the time of year that we got married, we knew we were going long haul because it was out of season for Europe and it would have cost so much money. We then had the choice between hot or cold and the promise of a British winter won and we decided to do hot.
When you’re at the point of picking a honeymoon, be aware that if you pick the winter months Europe could possibly be the same price as somewhere long haul so shop around. I say this as most people I know have taken a honeymoon in Europe and everyone thought we weren’t even considering Europe and just going straight for fancy, Caribbean holiday.

we are going to Bali, Lombok and the Gili islands for 3 weeks. Can’t wait! Seems to be a popular option with some PP’s as well. We are planning hiking, spa days, scuba diving and eating loads of amazing vegan food.
We did consider: Maldives (I thought I’d get bored), Maritius (weather is no good when we are meant to be going), Mexico (I wanted something more laid back with smaller resorts), Vietnam (FI was not keen on travelling around!!). So yeah. Indonesia here we come (in 83 days!!).

We are currently making this decision!
Our wedding is in August and if we go straight away we’re thinking Hawaii, but if we wait a few months towards the end of the year we will probably go for a minimoon in Europe straight after the wedding and then go to the Caribbean around November/December.
For us, although we LOVE Italy and other places in Europe, we figure we’ll be going there forever once we have kids etc. The long haul destinations feel a little bit more special for our actual honeymoon!
Like the PP has said, we considered the Maldives and Mauritius but thought maybe we’d be bored.

We went to Turkey, but it was in 2013 and I wouldn’t go there now! Glad we saw it when we did…

We have 10 days in the Dominican republic followed by 3 days in Vegas booked for July, 3 days after our wedding, so excited!

I’m not based in the UK, but my wedding will be there, so can that count? My fiance and I are traveling around Europe for the 2 months leading up to the big day, but the actual honeymoon will be traveling around Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro. We’ll be there in September. So excited!

I’m Canadian, fiance is British, we’ll be starting our lives together in Canada and will be going on our honeymoon in South America.

Dubai and Australia for 3.5 weeks

The Maldives would’ve been perfect but it was the wrong time of year to go there. We stayed in the UK and to be honest I couldn’t have coped with having to pack another bag to go abroad.

We’re paying for our wedding ourselves so we can’t afford an extravagant honeymoon straight off the back of it, and we don’t want to wait 6 months to a year to afford the honeymoon we really wanted (….Disney World, Florida!) So we are jumping on the Eurostar for a short but fancy Disney break after the wedding and saving up for a regular less fancy but still Disney Florida based holiday either for our birthdays or our 1st annivirsary next year.
We considered Japan (…Tokyo also has 2 Disney parks… Can you sense the theme here?) But Japan is so expensive, that one will have to happen further in the future.
