I think most people will go by the 4cs and prefer closer to the colorless range if nothing else because that is what we are supposed to like on the diamond grading scale. However, I think most people would go a bit warmer if it meant going up in size, cut, or clarity. And then there are ladies who REALLY know their stuff with diamonds and have strong personal preferences, like many of the bees. For general resale, etc., I’d say the closer to colorless the better.
I am by no means a diamond expert. I own my great grandmother’s ering, which is an old cut with an H diamond set in platinum. It looks quite white to me, the only time I can see that it’s not totally clear is if I look at the side view in the sun. I’m not sure if I prefer that it’s on the warmer side without seeing a side by side comparison. If I were shopping for a new diamond I’m honestly not sure what I would like, though I tend to like older cuts anyway and those are rarely completely colorless (UKBee basically has my ideal ring/stone!).

Thanks all! Our original jeweler made us buy the setting (although refunded the diamond) so we were limited to stones that fit in the 14kt white gold 1.5 carat setting. My fiancé wanted to spend the same budget, but buying online is definitely cheaper=Higher color ! I guess I will find out in a few days if E is my preference or not!

Definitely depends! I love a colorless pear, radiant and emerald cut, but older cuts like OECs and OMCs I prefer anything from k-z! I will say I’m not really an in between person, I either like a lot of warmth or no warmth

K colour SI1 clarity set in rose gold .61carats
Ideally I would’ve liked a slightly whiter stone because of the contrast. . the diamonds on pave band are g-h And look very white compared to center stone in indoor lighting ,,But would’ve sacrificed size and clarity. .
Outside the entire ring sparkles n shines like a chandelier..
Also the pave diamonds are 10x more noticeable in person
Just got my ring today.and the 12 million pics I took NONE do it justice ..in person it’s amazeing

I personally wanted colourless so I got a D colour and I can’t stop staring at it 😝 Although it’s only been 3 days 😄 I think E is still beautiful and white! I love colourless and near colourless diamonds 🙂
Here is my 0.64ct, D colour, VVS2, Triple X 🙂

I haven’t seen it in person yet, but my ring (that I’m waiting to be delivered any second now!!) has a K diamond and I found I really preferred warmer diamonds when I was looking, particularly since mine is set in yellow gold. I really hope mine shows a lot of light yellow/champagne tones. If we could have afforded it, I’d probably have gone for an actual yellow diamond!
