I’ve had married friends tell me they spent: $800, $3000, and $6500.
What did you spend?
I’ve had married friends tell me they spent: $800, $3000, and $6500.
What did you spend?
I think we spent around $2,600, and it was worth every penny.
I spent about $4,800 Well worth it our photographer was AMAZING.
Projected to be just over $5000, but it includes lots of stuff including egagement shoot, 6 hours and the best photog eva.
Our total comes to $1900. We will have 1 photographer for six hours and will receive a DVD with all images and a release so we can purchase prints where we want. YMMV, depending on where you live, though.
We were really lucky to find our photographer, who is doing full day coverage with a 2nd shooter for $1400 plus a complimentary engagement session. She is a friend of one of my childhood friends who just got married, and does amazing work, but she’s just starting out. Watching her work, you’d never know it, though!
Mine is $2900, but everything is more expensive over here in Aus, so i’d say that’s on the lower end of midpriced here. It includes an amazing photographger all day (not including reception, thats an extra $160 an hour, a photo disc of all the (good) pics she says she wont even bother editing the crap crap ones). An album with 20 sides (admittedly extra sides are very expensive, but since we get the disc I’ll just try and be really selective) and thank you cards with one pic
We also had an E-shoot with her (won it and an image at a bridal expo, but she really is amazing and so nice, so it wasnt a dodgy like they sometimes are, there were only 10 winners at each expo, and she posts them all on her FB) and i’m just in love with those pics (although we couldnt get them on a disc, which sucks)
We’re spending $500. I’m not doing any traditional wedding stuff (no cake-cutting, garter/boquet-tossing, ect). Ceremony and reception are at the same venue (a boat) for 4 hours total.
We need someone to hang out and take candid shots, and a few posed of the wedding party. My friend is a photographer for a newspaper, and takes AMAZING candids – totally my style. He’s just breaking into weddings so gave us a great deal to build his portfolio 🙂
We spent a little bit under $3k, for 8 hours of coverage and our e-shoot was free. Our photographer just blogged our photos a couple of days ago and it was SO WORTH IT. 🙂
thanks everyone. i found a company that charges $900 for 6 hours, and i thought that was a really good deal but my Fiance thought it was a lot, so your examples def help put it in perspective!
Well, for the actual wedding we were going to be spending $1500. However, since we’re just eloping now our photographer took the $250 deposit as the full payment to do some getting ready shots, the ceremony, and couples portraits. Score! 🙂
We are getting our photos for free, but buying the photographer a gift card for a yet-undetermined amount (probably $100 to a nice local restaurant) or a gift. We will also be doing a couple’s shoot after the wedding for $135 with access to all the photos for printing/posting.
