I just tried on dresses for the very first time
plus size bride, very nervous… but think I like these 2. they are very different.
which one do you like better…. why? Thanks a lot for sharing your opinions 🙂
ps – it’s for a caribbean beach wedding
(note: dress 1 was a size too small so would fit better)

I love the sweetheart neckline on dress 1, and I think the belt really highlights your waist.

@p2b:thanks for the comment/compliment. i felt good in the dress, and i guess that’s what matters most

I don’t like the skirt on 1 and the halter on 2 so I vote keep looking! They’re so different – you really don’t have an opinion either way, OP?

@mchitt329: i like how fun the 1st one is… and i think the halter is flattering on my larger figure.

I voted for you to keep looking. I definitely love the sweetheart neckline on you. I think it’s much more flattering than the halter style. I just do not really care for the skirt on the first dress. I think the ribbon-edged ruffles are a little too much.

@mchitt329: funny, I completely agree. Keep looking. But both have their strong points (don’t want you to get discouraged!!!)
I will say that #1 seems appropriate for a beach wedding. It is flowy and pretty. It’s so damn appropriate! But the sweetheart neckline in #1` looks so nice!!!!!

I voted keep looking. I like the skirt on the second better, but the neckline on the first. But neither is unflattering, so get what you love.

@mchitt329: +1. You said exactly what I was thinking.
@future_mrs_m: If you aren’t leaning towards one at all I would keep looking.

I think 1 is more flattering, but neither of them is the right dress.

I love everything about #2 except the odd neckline shape. But the overall shape and style seems perfect for the beach to me. Perhaps you could find something sweetheart on top that has the same feel all over? Somehow I keep seeing sand trapped in all those fluffy ruffles on the first one, maybe that’s why I like #2 so much. WIth your curves, you will rock whatever dress you choose!

thank you all for your comments. it was my first time shopping and it’s all very overwhelming. it’s nice to have an unbiased point of view.

I like the sweetheart neckline and bodice of #1, but the skirt might be a bit much for a destination beach wedding, especially if you don’t feel like it is your dress. I would keep looking until you find something you love.

I voted keep looking. You’ve still got quite a bit of time to choose, maybe even wait for the 2013 styles to come in. Neither is bad, but I think you could find something that suited you even better that you truly loved and that you knew was THE dress.
