Thanks everyone! This weekend we are going to go back and sit with both #4 and #2 again.
I am still torn because #4 has lovely dual tones and does such interesting things in different lighting but I’m concerned it’s too dark to “coordinate” with all of my outfits…is that a dumb worry? Jewelers seemed to agree that it was the more magnificent stone that I would always find a reason to glance down at.
#2 is half a carat smaller and about $500 more expensive but that cut seems really precise and the color a bit more neutral. In different lighting is stays more or less the same with a slight shift in tone.

I voted for 2 and 4 earlier and looking at it again, it seems to me that 4 is more neutral while 2 is cooler. So I think it might come down to your skin tone and what matches better. But either way both are gorgeous. Perhaps it’s helpful to see them both on your finger. And finally I personally found stones that have different reactions to different lightings to be more fun. My moissy is this way and I love looking at the different looks of it.

I love #2! But 4 would be my second choice! Either one will be beautiful!

poikl : Stone 2 or 4. The rest are cloudy.

I love #4. I think a dark green can be a neutral. I wouldn’t worry about it clashing with outfits. What colors do you usually wear?

sweatergal007 : I honestly wear all kinds of colors, my closet is organized like a rainbow. Greens, blues, pinks, and oranges along with black/white.
I think I am thinking too much about how others will react to the stone initially. Maybe not seeing the amazing color changing aspects of the darker stone and just seeing it as dark and not as sparkly. I also recognize that I’m the one that needs to love it in the long term, not them, but having the recognition that the symbol of our relationship is something special is apparently meaninfgul to me as well.
If I still can’t decide I think I’ll just trust my boyfriend to pick one and run with it. I don’t think I’ll be disappointed either way.

2 is the one that stands out most to me!

I’d go with number four for sure!

I couldn’t wait and went back yesterday. Seeing just 2 and 4 side by side, number 4 was the clear winner for me.
I’ll for sure post again once the actual ring is done and on my hand after the proposal…hopefully in a couple months!
