longtimemrs :   ivvy :  They definitely give different looks. I think for such a large purchase we will go platinum but I wear a RG RHR (3mm comfort fit band), a stainless steel watch, and a rose gold bangle. Love mixing.

Rose gold! Closely followed by 18K yellow gold. I’m personally not a huge fan of white metals. I’m very warm-toned, so they just don’t look great. My rings are rose gold, and I’m very happy with them. I momentarily worried that it’s too trendy, but a quick search on here will show that people have asked “is rose gold too trendy” for the better part of 10 years, and it’s still around and kicking, so I think it’s here to stay.

I have a white and yellow gold mix set. I also have a rose gold watch. I love mixing metals. I wear what I love.

It will depend on what color stone I end up with. A light blue or pink stone would be in white gold, while a dark green stone would be in rose gold.

I chose other. My engagement ring and wedding band are both silver, since that’s the metal I have always most prefered. I tried to talk myself into gold, but it just isn’t me. Literally every piece of jewelry I own is silver, so I figured my wedding set should be silver, as well. My fiance’s wedding band is silver with a Koa wood inlay. 🙂

18K White gold, I do not like platinum at all. Used to have a pair of platinum earrings and I could not keep them shiny no matter what. My fiance originally wanted to have my ring in platinum, but I was very adamant about only wanting white gold.

My preference is unplated white gold.  I like the creamier color of it and the contrast between the metal and diamonds or other white stones.  I feel like stones get lost in white gold when it’s icy “white” and plated.  I’m also lazy and don’t like the idea of constantly getting my ring dipped (or the more likely scenario is that I just won’t get it redone nearly as frequently and then why even bother since I like unplated in the first place?).

However, since most commercially available white gold is rhodium-plated, then my very close second choice would be rose gold if I don’t go the custom route.  I like having contrast of metal/stones and it’s more flattering on me than yellow gold.
