Can we see a pic of the dress? (Ideally with you in it, but on a model if not.)

I voted sweetheart with no straps (: the softer look of the sweetheart will balance out your broad shoulders. I think that the spaghetti straps would look disproportionate and the thick straps might add bulk. If you’re not comfortable in strapless then I would definitely choose the thicker straps. Good luck! @cacamillis: I’d go strapless and try gowns with more embellishment on the skirt than the bodice. One key to any body issue is not to draw excess attention to the area. Also, I’d suggest if you get a consultant who’s experienced and friendly when you are shopping, ask about which styles in her experience work for broad shoulders. Sometimes a friendly clerk can be a real gem!

I personally tend to find sweetheart necklines flattering on EVERYONE. And I’d go for strapless—it’s a pretty classic look. I was uncomfortable with strapless at first, but the dress I bought has a corset back, so I know it’s not going ANYwhere! 🙂 Don’t forget that you’ll be beautiful in whatever you choose. Good luck!

My tailor has changed it to a sweetheart already but I may need straps to heighten the back of it due to horrible backfat! 😉

I think cap sleeves or a halter will look great, but I dont see any issues with how it is now. You look great, but I understand if you want to add them, Im small too.

I agree with MAPSA. Cap sleeves with a sweetheart neckline would look amazing on you. You already look drop dead gorgeous in your dress, so anything you do will just be adding to it!

Cap sleeves or a faux key hole with cap sleeve look. I wish I had ordered a yard of extra fabric I would have made a matching bolero.

Have you considered making the back into a V to eliminate the back fat? This idea was in a featured post a while back. I think the dress is beautiful as it is.

I think you are nuts! You look awesome, I see no broad shoulders or anything of the nature!

I totally agree with MissSawyer. sweetheart neckline no straps would look great though, But that is what my dress is, so I am biased.

This is my Allure C221 dress! I am adding a lace over lay to the tulle skirt to add softness to this amazing dress. As shown in Allure 9018. I am debating on keeping the cap sleeves or doing away with them and having a sweetheart neckline. Im 107lbs and 5’5. My worrie is that my full C cup boobs will be to exposed? Does the cap sleeve make it not look bridal? more of an evening gown? Advice is greatly appreciated bees!
