    I think the brides name goes first before the wedding.  Then, after you’re married, your husband’s name goes first!

    @jg780806:  hmmm well im not sure if there would be an exception for the reception (awkward rhyme) but i think most times i have still seen the bride’s name listed first for reception items.

    I am glad i looked at this post lol i had no idea you were sposta put the bride’s name 1st i would have done it all wrong lol

    Actually, the rule is that in formal or public situations the gentleman‘s name goes first — and you use titles and surnames; to whit: “Mr Smith and Ms Jones”. The lady’s name goes first in informal and intimate situations, where first names are being used; to whit: “Mary and John”.

    Whoops…I’m eloping, so only doing wedding announcements post-wedding, so I answered groom, but then I realized that you’re talking pre-wedding, so that would be bride.
