@ju5tdance:  You need an option for tabbed bar. We are having a limited tabbed bar (certain drink on tab only) until it runs out, then it becomes a cash bar.

This is the norm in our area.

@ju5tdance:  Oh, and yep in Aus we had the option of a flat rate open bar, $42pp for the 5 hours of service.

@ju5tdance:  Same with me! I dont even get drunk, I just go straight to “hangover,” and then  I have a migraine the next day.

I did have a (huge) sangria a couple of weeks ago and didnt get sick though.

I voted cash bar, but based on your description it probably falls between that and limited open. There will be a limited amount of wine with dinner, and 1-2 glasses of sparkling wine. Everything beyond that will be cash bar. Cash bar is pretty much the norm in Ireland, and I’m providing enough alcohol to get everyone tipsy anyway, so Im happy with my decision.

We had an open bar including all the normal stuff – beer, wine, spirits, champagne and soft drinks.

We are having a Premium Liquor open bar (ie grey goose, patron, knob creek, johnnie walker black) for our reception to thank our guests for travelling to our destination wedding. We can do that because we will have less than 50 guests there.

For our at home party we are only hosting beer, wine and soft drinks.
