Its both the cost and the timing. For the silk flowers you could use the discount coupons to Michaels or JoAnns to buy the flowers and materials. They also sometimes have huge markdowns, you just need to keep checking. This totally saves time if you’re ok with the look. As for the fresh flowers you would need to make them the day before and have a cool place to store them to keep them fresh. From what I hear, it takes a lot more flowers than you think. An alternative is coffee filter pomanders or tissue paper pomaders.

ditto sweet lovely!! i used floral foam for this arrangement and it took me like 21 roses!! and this is a tiny arrangement!!
