i’m not sure if I have the right name for it, but I recently bought a Maggie Sottero Whitney dress and in the model picture the bottom poofs out a lot more than it did when I tried it on… Does anyone know if they make a hoop skirt that just poofs out the bottom of a dress? In the picture of me the woman tried to poof it out over the pedestal but it still didn’t look the same…

Perhaps the model was wearing a wire contraption under the dress? The second picture looks “picture” perfect so they probably had hours to play with it to make it look just “right”.
Can you wear tulle under yours to make it pouffy?

Yes you can buy crinolines that just poof out towards the bottom.

Thanks for the quick responses! The wire contraption idea sounds less heavy, would that be something I ask for from my alterations people??

I would try a hoop skirt – they are very light and will give the dress shape and keep it clear of yur legs/make it easier to walk in. I would check if your bridal shop has one to try on, I actually ordered mine from China so it was pretty inexpensive.

David’s Bridal sells these types of things. I would check there first to save money if feasible. Alterations are so expensive I feel like they might try to charge more when you can go about it in a different way.

I agree with pp… get a fit and flare or trumpet shaped crinoline from davids bridal. it will help “poof” your dress out and keep it from bunching between your knees and ankles when you walk. we did a little “test” in the bridal salon when I was buyingmy dress and the crinoline made all the difference when I walked. I highly recommend it!! (and it’s not heavy at all!)
