Hey guys, I wanted to update you on this situation after our tech team and admin team have looked into these issues.

First, tech team was able to confirm the issue with Shockwave crashing due to some video ads. AdExhange, which is where the video ads come from, recently stopped supporting flash, which may be the cause of the crashing video ads. They suggest trying to disable chrome’s flash plugin as it may help with this issue. Unforunately this is not something that our tech team can disable.

They do not believe there is malware or viruses coming through from Weddingbee. AdExchange, which Weddingbee uses for many of its ads, is excellent at blocking malware, and our admin/tech teams screen direct advertisers carefully. Our affiliate partners also make sure malware doesn’t come through because it’s bad for their business and they would lose distribution partners.

Please do run a virus scan if you are afraid your computer may have a virus or malware installed. It is possible that the crashing flash ads are triggering the malware warnings, but it doesn’t hurt to be safe. It’s also possible there is some type of malware already installed on your computer, such as a browser toolbar, and the flash ads are triggering that.

And please do continue to send screenshots if you are redirected to something that feels fishy.

I’m sorry that I don’t have a less complicated answer for you guys at this time. I promise I am continuing to monitor this situation and am keeping the team updated when any new information comes in.

I started getting redirected to the Sprint “you’ve won” site. It would only happen on this site. I installed a bunch of blockers & it finally stopped. I have only been on this site for about a week maybe two.

And the annoying ad music that comes on every.single.time you click on the boards.

And I disabled the flash plugin as suggested and that does help weddingbee. However, it disables blogs, photography websites, and a handful of other sites I use semi-regularly. I dont think disabling flash on my entire browser just to make this website work is a suitable solution.

I just got an explicit pop-up for adult friend finder 🙁

Can the tech guys do something to block that site from ads on the bee?

OMG same. Martha fucking Stewart, Home Depot, and some software “crashing” every time I try to do something more complicated than type 20 words a minute. And freezing.

And just the other night I came here on my phone and thought I clicked the double arrows to move to the last page of a thread and it took me to a porn site!!!

100%. I just got yet another pop-up telling me I have 13 “very serious viruses” on my phone. And it had a fake Google logo on it. Super classy. I’m just about done with this site.

I don’t care about silly video ads. I understand the site has to make money. But malicious pop ups?? Why???
