I’m from Atlanta.  Needless to say, it’s all “coke.”

(Literally.  I don’t think I saw so much as a six pack of Pepsi for the entirety of my childhood.)

I’m from Indiana and I call it pop.

DH is from GA and he calls it Coke.  He’s been trying to convert me for 5.5 years because he hates the word pop, but it isn’t going to happen! 🙂

Yep. Us Canucks say pop. I always have to remind myself in the States or with American friends to say soda instead 🙂

@Mrs.KMM:  Ha!  I also hate the word “pop” with a passion.  Maybe it’s a GA thing?

I’m Canadian so I say pop (although some anglophone Quebecers say “soft drink”).

I’m from just north of Boston. We say soda.  Then again, we also use wicked as an adjective 🙂

“Can you get me a soda? I’m wicked thirsty.”

I’m from the south and I’ve always said “coke” even when I’m not refering to a coke specifically. I don’t think Pepsi is as popular in the south?

I think everyone in Canada either says “pop” or “soft drink.” When you say “soda” it means soda water. I say “pop.”

I’m originally from Mass/Delaware, and everyone I knew said “soda”- when we were going ot move to Illi, my Dad told us that people called it “pop”, and my siblings and I cracked up over that the whole drive out there- we kept saying “Like POP-corn?” For some reason, to us 7-8-9 year olds, it was the funniest thing in the world.

I’m from the south.  I say “Do you want a coke?  What kind?”  LOL.  Yes, I am that person.

I am more likely to say soda than pop though.

    Coke is a funny word.
