Wow, this is so beautiful!  What a lovely keepsake and wonderful way to start off your marriage.

Actually, just this last Sunday a couple from our parish celebrated thier 70th (!!) wedding anniversary.  After mass, there were presented with a similar blessing from Pope Francis.  Thier family had organized it all for them and they recieved a standing ovation.  Definatley a tear-jerker!

We are doing this! I’m super nervous and excited.  What did you wear to Sposi Novelli?

Amazing!!!! I’m hoping to get a Papal Blessing for my marriage someday. Did you know if you go to a Wednesday audience while wearing what you wore on your wedding day, you get to meet the Pope and he will bless your marriage right then and there?? Congrats again!

I was baptised by Pope Francis, back in the ’80s when he wasn’t the Pope yet, obviously. lol I didn’t know you could do this, but it’s really nice. If we were doing a religious ceremony, we’d probably do it too!! Francis is a really awesome person, I use to run into him all the time on the subway on my way to school and he’d always say hi and smile.

Lilybelt:  for Sposi Novella, I’m going to take my reception dress. My wedding dress is extremely fluffy and I don’t want to try to manage it on a plane. It’s too big I’m betting to carry on or gate check, and the risk of getting lost or damaged isn’t worth it. No way am I passing the amazing gift of having Pope Francis bless our marriage. We’ll actually be in the area for three Wednesdays, so hopefully we can attend the general service for the other two weeks.

Plus, it’s a good reason to wear my veil again. Always worth a consideration.

Can I ask what is the process to get this done? I have seen a lot of fake websites and i’m worried of placing a question with the order site. Also this is suppose to be requested before the marriage correct? How far before?

It’s beautiful! I just got mine in the mail today and I love it! Only took 2 weeks to come in. What size frame did you use for yours and where did you get it? I’m surprising my Fiance with it for our ceremony ๐Ÿ™‚

Drstgo24:  For you and the people still wanting to know how to do this… this is the Vatican’s website:

http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/institutions_connected/elem_apost/documents/rc_elemosineria_doc_20130218_benedizioni_en.html

There is a downloadable form at the bottom that you need to fill out and fax over. I ordered mine June 11th and it came in today. So for processing and shipping time, it only took about 2 weeks to come in. The website says to order it one month before you need it, but I did so way before and I got it before I thought I would. The cost for me was 36 euros, which is about 40 US dollars. It came through DHL, but you can pick either priority mail or express(dhl) which costs more.

It looks super good, I’m glad I got it! ๐Ÿ™‚
