What a bummer! Good of them to attempt to offer reimbursement, but still…I went to my cousin’s wedding in Portland last year, it was really beautiful. They got married at a golf course but I know Portland has more to offer than that. I’ve been looking for my wedding venue on this site, hope it helps! Gathering Guide Event Venues

I live about an hour south of Portland and If I were getting married up there I would look into McMenamins.  They have multiple… one in downtown portland and a couple surrounding the portland area.  Each one offers a different feel and each one also offers different ceremony options (outdoor, ballroom, ect.)  Some of them also have movie theaters and bars around the hotel as well.  They have concerts… I mean the list goes ON!  I would check it out if I were you!  http://www.mcmenamins.com/.  You can click on hotels and check out the ones in the portland area and each one will also tell you more about their wedding options!  Hope that helps!

Lakeside Gardens and Abernethy Center are both full-service venues. Lakeside is probably a little more affordable and the outdoor areas are really pretty. I liked Abernethy a little more, though,  because your site won’t be double-booked. Both gardens, reception tent and ballrooms look really nice and the girl working there, Laura, was really nice.

Oh wow 🙁 I am checking out Adrianna Hill tomorrow as a possibility. I had put in a request from Arista but heard nothing back, I guess that explains it. I have heard good things about McMenamin’s as well. Best of luck to you in your search.

a cousin got married at the road house mcmeamins -off of corneluus pass road out here in hilsboro- it was pretty( garden ceremony and outdoor -tented reception) we also had a retirement party there in the barn- that was lovely. very rustic and charming atmopshere.

we got married at a church in beaverton and moved the party to embassy suites washington square.

How many guests are you planning for?  If your date is in February then you want everything indoors.  I’m a big fan of events at McMenamins.  I suggest the Attic at Edgefield (less than ~85 people) or the Octagonal Barn at Cornelius Pass Roadhouse (up to 150).  The other spaces I loved were more DIY and outdoors.

@lolalovesjosh:  each event my family has there have really blown me away food wise– i hate having dinner at there resturants and was very unhappy when i found out thats the place the family chose to do events but each time the food was really good– the wedding- there was a buffet..ribs and  chicken- not fried chicken but crispy yet moist and seasoned very well. the retirement party was  buffet style as well-they served prime rib and lots of veggies.
