Hey everyone! I have been obsessively looking for portrait back wedding gowns for the past week, and have yet to try any of these on, but I am very curious as to which one of these gowns you guys prefer? I have narrowed down my search to four gowns which I can afford. And if there are any real brides who have bought any of these gowns, please post your pics, because I love seeing dresses on real brides. It gives me a better idea how these gowns really look 🙂
If I buy one of these gowns later this year, I will definitely post it up here 😀 Unless something better tops these gowns in a similar price range, which I doubt.
[note: all of these gowns retail around $2000 give or take]
1. “Onyx” from BHLDN
2. “8656” by Justin Alexander
3. “Juglar” by Rosa Clara
4. “Jucar” by Rosa Clara

I voted for the onyx just because i thought the buttons in the back are a little distracting from the beautiful back

I can’t quite figure out what exactly it is about the Onyx, but I love it. I didn’t even realize there were 4 dresses right away because I kept wanting to scroll back up to the first one!
My neck would feel WAY too claustrophobic in gown 3, but it is gorgeous too.

I voted for #4 but only because I thought the back was the most beautiful. I don’t like the neckline though.

Oh my! Onyx by BHLDN is breathtaking!! Get that one!

I love that bhldn dress. If I’d had that option when I bought my dress, it would have been what I chose. =(

I tried on the Justin Alexander dress on Saturday. Oh, it is so gorgeous in person. The salesladies said it was the prettiest dress in the store and I had to try it on. The construction, the back, the lace. It’s in my top 3. I wish I had gotten a picture of it in real life to show you. I found it runs true to street size, too.

Onyx is really beautiful. I like that the covered back is balanced out by the v-neck at the front. I think it really depends on your body shape. If you’re at all curvy/have boobs, I think the Onyx would be most flattering (and also the Justin Alexander, but out of the two I think the Onyx is more unique and pretty).
The Juglar looks very constrictive, you would need to be quite tall/slim and have a very long neck to do it justice, I think. On a normal person I think it could look frumpy and uncomfortable.
I also like the Juclar, it’s a close second to the Onyx so it’s just a matter of trying them on and your personal preference!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the first dress it so pretty.
I keep scrolling back up so I can look at it again.
Please get that one so I can see it on a real bride.

Thanks ladies for your opinions! 😀
Ooh I’m so glad that other people like the Onyx gown as much as I do 😀 When I first saw the gown, I kept staring at the photos, saved them on my phone as well so that I could look at them while on the go. And I watched the video on their website so many times to look at it in action lol. I am literally obsessed with it. The only thing is that I live in Vancouver Canada, and the closest BHLDN store to me is in Chicago 🙁 So in order for me to try on the gown, I have to purchase it online (I can always return it if I don’t like it, I have the time for that). Or I have to make the trip to Chicago just to try this on.
If onyx doesn’t work out, I will definitely lean towards the Justin Alexander gown (I saw a picture of it on a real bride, and it looks soooo much better on a real bride than on the model).
[Oh and sorry, but I totally mixed up on my original post juglar and jucar. 3 is Jucar, and 4 is juglar. I changed the names in the polls, but didnt affect the result of the polls, and I can’t seem to find a way to edit in the original post… oops, sorry about that! :s]
