The opk detects a hormone surge that occurs before you ovulate. Once you get a positive, most women ovulate in the next 2-24 hours. So it’s entirely possible to have a positive opk, but not have physical ovulation symptoms like cramps, cervical mucus etc until a few hours or day later.
