I bought my dress from lightinthebox.com and LOVE it!!  The thing about getting dresses from china is if they show the original designers picture to ask for a picture of that dress THEY made and if they don’t send you one DO NOT ORDER it will not look the same!

There is another Bee that I talk to that did buy her dress, actually she bought 2 from China (I think she is a bit indecisive like myself..hahaha). Maybe she will post pics for you. I too am considering it after seeing she had a positive experience

I talked to a few other people who got a dress from there before ordering and they all were very happy about their dress. I think its just important to have realistic expectations. My dresses looks exactly like the picture did. There was a girl who wrote a bad review on the dress I got but she thought the flowers were going to be lace (they look nothing like lace in the picture)

Pre alterations

I’m 5’1 and got standard size 4 dress so I needed alterations to the skirt that I would have needed even bought locally.

After- Not sure what happened to my boobs apparently they grew a TON in the past few months.

I bought my dress through Jeff Liu of April Bridal and was very happy with it. If you send me a private message, I can send you links to some posts I wrote about the whole process, including pictures. 🙂

I placed an alchemy post etsy for a replicated maggie sottero gown (with some minor changes so it’s kinda my own and I like it better). The lady I’m working with is so nice and she sent me so many pictures of her work and I’ve talked to so many of her previous customers about her. I’ll be getting my dress is April and I’m so excited about it. Just wanted to let you know of a different route you could go as well. =) GOOD LUCK!

I bought from two. Jeff Liu and Dressilyme.

My Jeff Liu dress was horrible and not properly made.

I love my Dressilyme gown and its perfect. I will order another for my second wedding.

I ordered 3 dresses from perfectbridaldress.com in China 1 was for an adult, 2 for flowergirls.  The dresses arrived 4 days late and the flower girl dresses were a totally different colour to the bridesmaid dress – they didn’t match at all.  The flower girl dresses were far too big and when I emailed the company with photographic evidence, that they’d made them too big, they said they’d made them to size so I couldn’t have a refund.  I had paid by paypal, but they can’t help because you only have 45 days after payment to get a refund, and the dresses took more than 50 to arrive.  The company is now ignoring my emails.

So I had to go out and buy 2 off the peg flowergirl dresses 3 weeks before teh wedding!  More stress than required.  The bridesmaid dress was better, looked great at the top, but too big at the bottom, but hopefully a tailor can improve it.  I would not recommend buying a dress from China based on my experience: I wasted $160 and gave myself a whole lot of stress!
