This is my first time using OPKs and any insight from those of you who are more experienced would be so appreciated!
This cycle is Darling Husband and I’s first cycle TTC. We recently found out that Darling Husband would be travelling outside of the country, and he would be leaving the first day of our fertile window. We figured, we would still give this month a shot and hope for the best with the one day we had.
This brings us to today, and my question—but first some background info:
I don’t temp or chart, but I do track what I can into FF. (When my period starts/ends, When we BD, CM, etc).
Usually my cycle is about 27-29 days. Most of the time it stays at 28 days, but sometimes it’s a day less or more. This month it was 29 days.
According to the information I had punched in FF, I was due to ovulate around CD 15/16. Today is CD 11 –The first day of our fertile window (according to FF), and the day he left. So we BD and used preseed cause I read that can help keep the swimmers alive for longer, and thought it may help keep them around until I ovulate on day 15/16.
I also decided to use OPKs for the first time, starting today to help me track when I would ovulate. I planned on testing for the first time today, and continuing to test until I got a positive but was shocked when my first test on CD 11 seemed to be positive? I took two to confirm and it looks positive.. Or am I wrong?
I am also wondering if there is any way it could be a false positive? I tested approx. 2.5 hrs after BD. Can preseed cause a false positive? Is it possible that there was semen in my urine sample (sorry for TMI)and if so , can THAT case a false positive?
Is it possible that I’ll O earlier then expected on a month where my cycle is a day longer than usual?
I am so confused, but also a bit excited if it is indeed a real positive because that may increase our chances of conceiving this month. Any insight would be super appreciated!
Here is a pic of the two tests I took:
Thanks again ladies!
