I regularly post under a different name, but I’m not quite ready to announce we’re pregnant. This past month was our first month actually TTC, and about a week ago I noticed some spotting and thought it was probably the beginning of my period. I waited a few days and things didnt really change, so I took a test and sure enough.. a faint, faint, faint second line. I purchased a digital test the same day and it was positive, but the next morning the regular line test was negative. Since then, I’ve tested positive once more on a digital test and several times the line on the non-digital tests is still showing up faint.
I’ve been having cramps, boobs just started to get sore, and this is probably Too Much Information but I have the worst gas I’ve ever had in my life. No joke. According to my records, I’m probably only about four and a half weeks pregnant, but shouldn’t the line start to darken?? How long did it take for your pregnancy tests to show a line darker than or equal to the control line?
This has been a huge week- the same day I tested positive we put an offer in on a house and it was accepted! Times are changin around here:)

My line was super faint too, so I took a digital test. After that, I quit testing and just went to the doctor.
Call your doctor! They’ll do bloodwork and make sure your hormone levels are normal for how pregnant you are.

I called and they told me to wait until I was 8 weeks. I asked if I could come in earlier and she made me feel like that was totally not the norm. I scheduled an appt for when I should be about 8 weeks.

@kkbee: I know this might sound weird but I would like to hear more about your spotting. I spotted all last week, which was 2 weeks before my period is due. I thought it was my period coming early but it was never heavy enough to need a liner or tampon. AF is due this Sunday or Monday but I’ve had no cramping this week which is my normal indicator.

Same thing happened to me! I had a faint line the entire week of my expected period. So I used a digital test too and there’s no disputing those – you either are or you aren’t! They are a little more pricey, but it’s worth it to just know the answer.

Also, when are you testing? Your urine is more diluted later in the day or the more frequent you use the restroom. Try tomorrow morning, first thing and see if the line is darker! Try not to worry.

@DivinelyDiscreet: could have been the same as my spotting. It was just enough for me to notice when I wiped (sorry, tmi) but not enough for a liner or anything. I did have some cramping though that’s continued. I would say the spotting started about 10 days after I think we conceived, about a week before my missed period and it lasted for like three or four days. I tested positive three days after I started spotting. Good luck:)
