My clinical guard test gave me a light, but visible second line yesterday morning. We aren’t “trying” yet but planned to start in May, so I was pretty pumped. But, I tested again first thing this morning with another clinical guard AND a first response and both came out absolutely negative. I know false positives are rare but I don’t have any other explanation… I’m kind of bummed. Anyone else experience this?

How many DPO are you? Try again in a couple of days, or wait for AF since you weren’t “trying” anyway!

I had this happen with a clinical guard once. It was so weird, I dipped the clinical guard, instant pink-ish line, then dipped a FRER and two more CGs in the same pee (cause obv) and the CG looked negative and the FRER just had a super squinter. False positives are extremely rare so I still don’t know what to think, but I always suspected it was a weak chemical esp because I’d had a few other super squinters earlier in the week. AF arrived a day or two late that cycle.
FWIW, my eye is catching on something on your FRER. I also have the worst line eye of all time though so take it with a grain of salt. But that line on your CG is so strong – very very strange. I would keep testing.
Here’s a photo of my “false positive” – all these tests were with the same pee.

haley309 : maybe ur urine was sooooo diluted or u peed multiple times with no hold since the line was so dark initially

jayrock : Honestly it’s hard to say. I had my nexplanon out in September, had one period in November and nothing since. I’m not on a regular/predictable cycle so it’s definitely frustrating.

tiffanybruiser : omg how frustrating! But it makes me feel a little better knowing that I’m not the only one. Even weirder that all yours were with the same sample.
