Hi Bees,
I have been ttc for 6 months now and thought that we had finally succeed this month. I had a definite temp rise for ovulation and then got a very faint bfp at 11dpo. I retested at 12dpo and it was still faint. I retested with a first response last night (14dpo) and it was a nice dark line. However using FMU this morning I tested using another first response and it was a BFN so I tried using an Internet cheapie and that was positive but faint. I also have a back ache and mild cramping – typical AF symptoms for me.
What do you ladies think? is this a chemical pregnancy? feeling very depressed and u certain

If the 14DPO was a nice dark line I would say you’re pregnant. Have your doctor do a blood test to confirm though.

Lyndzo: thanks! it was definitely a dark line 14dpo it’s just the bfn with fmu this morning that’s confusing me!
I will go to the doctor on Monday

It’s really hard to say. You could call your doctor and have them test your HCG and see if it is going up.

I took another test this afternoon, just a cheapie I had lying around it and was a clear bfp however I am having very bad cramping and really feel like AF is about to come.
wull def go to doctor if AF isn’t here tomorrow morning. It’s the not knowing that’s the hardest part!!

early pregnancy symptoms often mimic pms symptoms, so even though you might feel like your period is coming, you may in fact be pregnant. i had really bad cramping early in my pregnancy and i totally blamed it on pms.
have your temperatures stayed on the high side?

DancerBee: I definitely felt like AF was coming at around 9-12 DPO and it was actually a pregnancy!

Different tests will often give you varying lines beause they all have slightly different sensitivities towards HCG, this is often why people say to stop testing after too long!
I would give it a day or two because like pp said, PMS / AF symptoms can easily look like pregnancy symptoms (and vice-versa) but definitely get in contact with your Dr if you’re terribly concerned!

I tested yesterday afterboon with a first reposnse and got a dark BFP then this morning with fmu i got a BFN using another first response (from the same box).. i also got a faint positivie this morning using a different brand..
If the BFN was with a brand i hadn’t used then i wouldn’t be so worried as i’d assume that that brand just wasnt as sensitive.. but seeing as i got a very clear BFP the day before i am worried that my HCG levels must have dropped and i might be having a cp…
will go to the doctor on monday jus not liking this waiting and uncertainty….

DancerBee: I’m going to apologize first for not being the type of person who provides blind reassurance but…..
I’ve identified two losses myself by a FRER that went significantly lighter. There can be variation day to day, but if you POAS 3 days in a row and the first day is the darkest by a significant amount— it’s probably a chemical. However, you should only compare tests that were taken at the same time as everyone’s body shows the HCG stronger at different times. So if last night was super dark, I would compare to tonight’s versus this morning. Oh and only compare FRER to FRER.
Fingers crossed for you that it was a fluke and that this BFP gets darker and darker!

Thanks so much for the advice and support. I went to the doctor today for a blood test and will have a follow up one in 48 hours so they can see what my HCG levels are doing.
I also took another test today – this afternoon as recommended and it was positive but not very dark – lighter than it was a couple of days ago. So things aren’t really looking very hopeful but its not over yet.

DancerBee: Good luck. Hopefully your levels go up like they should.
