@Getmetothechurch99:  Personally I think the dress is perfect for your wedding if you are getting married in a beautiful Catholic Cathedral! And that dress is beautiful! I am personally am not a huge fan of satin but that dress is absolutely gorgeus! =) Love, love, love the long beautiful train! πŸ™‚

Your dress is gorgeous and you chose it because you loved it and it felt right for you and your wedding!  Hold on to that!

Even if some of the things about it fall into categories that other bees have said that they dislike, this is your dress and if you don’t feel that way about it….then it doesn’t matter.

If you love the dress and feel beautiful and like a bride when you have it on, then that is what people at your wedding are going to see – you as a beautiful happy bride!

No one else has to love your dress (and no matter what dress you choose, there is guaranteed to be at least one person who will dislike something about it.)  Wear the dress you love!

And for what it’s worth, even though my taste is different than yours….I still say your dress is beautiful!  πŸ™‚

truly all that matters is your opinion (as you already said).  If you feel great in it, it will show and all anyone will be able to focus on is your radiant smile!

when I posted pictures of my dress on here I was basically told I look pregnant in it.  Whatever, I love how I feel in it, and I know I’ll look gorgeous when it fits right.

To a large extent you need to ignore negative comments on this site.  You can get a lot of great ideas and support here, but at the same time the people here are essentially strangers to you and if they don’t like your dress who cares?

@Getmetothechurch99:  I absolutely refuse to say I like or dislike your dress if it means you will change it. Don’t let others influence you!! People hate ballgowns (I thought I did too) but I have one.

Do u see how many people hate the Disney dresses and Mermaid dresses? Then look and see how many people get them and look AMAZING!!

You loved your dress for a reason so I say stick with it….

No!  I honestly think it fits perfect with you catholic cathedral wedding, and I am sure you look beautiful in it!  Like you said it may not being the greatest choice for a beach wedding but it will look amazing in that cathedral!  Please dont regret your decision because I think it will be perfect!

@Getmetothechurch99:  It’s a beautiful dress, and it should be perfect for your setting.  You can’t wear a simple, beachy dress to a cathedral wedding!  No worries.  As long as you LOVE the dress, that’s the most important thing.  People on this board have all kinds of opinions all over the map… you’d never find a dress that would please everyone, so don’t try!  Just please yourself.

Let me clarify — when I say I don’t like things, I personally mean FOR ME. Princess and ballgowns and pickups and bling? They’re not me … but, then, I would never be having a huge, glamorous Catholic wedding. I am not Catholic, nor am I glamorous!
However, I have attended some glamorous Catholic weddings and would have found it strange if the bride DIDN’T have a big, glorious dress like yours.
Don’t let others’ opinions get you down — they’re personal and don’t necessarily apply to you at all! If you love the dress, then it’s the right dress. And I’m betting your guests will love it — I’d probably be disappointed to see something simpler in a wedding like you’ve described!

You look great in your dress and I know it’s easier said than done but try not to let people’s opinions get to you. Plenty of people have expressed dislike over features my dress has…strapless, sparkle, textured skirt…but it’s all about preference. As far as being “out-dated” later, I hate to break it to everyone, but all of our dresses will more than likely look out-dated…because, well, they will be. We are getting married now, not 20 years from now πŸ™‚

Keep in mind that probably none (or very, very few) of your wedding guests have any idea about wedding trends or dresses. They dont go on weddingbee or pinterest like we all do. What seems overdone, hated, or old to us probably wont to your guests. Just a thought.
