you mentioned that benefits are not an issue since you can go on your fi plan, however, keep in mind he will need to pay imputed income on the cost to add you as the deduction can’t be taken pretax until you are married. Just another thing to think about in terms of $$ when making this decision.

If you’re new to the field, then you may need to sacrifice on the pay.  I’m trying to change fields myself, and have mentally prepared myself to accept lower pay.  I would rather get paid less than go back to my same career. You have to start somewhere.
