So I swear there are SOOOO many shades of purple that it is so hard to find a nice pair of peep toes that are good! I got frustrated a while back and went to the store and glittered these shoes… now I’m having second thoughts.

the flash makes them look slightly more grapey than they are in real life and I need to go back and do some touchups before the big day. Should I try and find a different pair of shoes??? If it helps the BM’s are wearing a dark dark purple (with no red, more blue purple) kind of an eggplant color vs wine or grape. If so do you have any suggestions!!!
PS I think what is bothering me is I’d rather have heels just slightly taller (not a lot taller) and maybe a strap up top to make sure the heels stay in place.

If you love them and they are comfortable who cares! 🙂 Enjoy them, I think they’re fabulous. Anything with that much sparkle is bound to be!

I think they look great, but I would also do the black toe part, even if it’s just a metallic purple paint instead of glitter… it will help bring the look together!

@o0olibelulao0o: what type of paint would work? I don’t want to do the glitter/modpodge thing b/c I can just see it turning into a goopy mess by the end of the night.

@Woodstock: I’ve done the glitter and modpodge thing and if you scuff up the surface it will be fine… I’ve done it 3 times and haven’t had an issue… especially at the toe part, that’s the part that stays the best!
That said, you could tape off/plastic baggie the shoe part and spray paint it with a fun silver or gold or just a purple that matches. even acrylic craft type paint works… As long as you can get an even coat of paint it will be fine, just scuff up the slick surface with sandpaper or something so it will stick.

I love the color….i’m partial to purple, our wedding is purple and hints of green. But I’ve got to say, these look like sand paper shoes.. I don’t know what it is, I love sparkle, and glitter and rhinestones and all that, but these look like they aren’t supposed to be glittery and a DIY gone wrong.
I say keep with the purple glitter theme but find a better quality shoe!
