Yes, take an at home test and if it shows positive,  book an appointment with your family doctor.

anonladygrace:  Yes take a test. I second the PP to contact your doctor if it’s positive. Good luck.

a test would be positive if you were pregnant.

A test would not necessarily be positive if you were pregnant. As early as it is right now, it’s possible that the hcg has dropped low enough to not register on a test at this point. However it is absolutely possible that you would still test positive if in fact the hcg is high enough. I’ve found that first response early result registers hcg super super low, following after my MC at 8 weeks, I got a super faint line at an hcg level of 6 (had bloodwork the same day). I’ve also had early MCs in which I had a faint line before I started bleeding but by the time AF arrived the tests were negative. Only way to know is to try. And I agree with PPs to call the doc if you do get a positive.

I’d go to my family doctor anyways. Good luck!

If you’re not TTC, you should take extra precaution anyway. Unless you previously suspected infertility, meaning a positive test would be a game changer, I’m not sure why that would impact your BC anymore than a non-positive scare. Either way, it’s a reminder that you need to be more careful. Me personally, if I wasn’t TTC, I wouldn’t take the test. Most miscarriages are a big mystery anyway, so it’s not likely to give you any info that will help if/when you do decide to TTC. I’d rather not know. If I wasn’t TTC and didn’t already know, I’d just assume it was my period and be more diligent about BC. (I’ve had miscarriages, so have had experience, and apologize if this seems insensitive to some. Just my own personal feelings based on my experience)

anonladygrace:  I’d make an appointment.

About 9 years ago, I had weird symptoms of something for a week. Going to sleep, I felt like my ovaries were churning and was just super uncomfortable. Then, I woke up on a Saturday bleeding, but had just had my  period. I was in pain for most of the day, to the point where sitting was unbearable. I went bowling with friends that night and could barely lift my ball, although was currently in a league and had no issues. I thought I was having a miscarriage, as friends I talked to said the same pains I was having was the same pains they had when they had miscarriages.

The same symptoms were around on Sunday, but the bleeding stop. I made an appointment for that Monday. They did a PG test, which was negative, but had scheduled me to get an ultrasound done to see what was going on. That came out negative, sol they don’t really know. In the end, I think it was juat a cyst that burst.

My period was one week late and I took 3 dollarama pregnancy test and it came up positive all three times. After you miscarry, the HcG level will still be detected. So you can find out if you miscarried by taking a pregnancy test. But, I don’t know what the point is of knowing, if you guys have been trying it would just discourage you guys.
