I know there are a lot of Bees on weight watchers who I assume increased their fruit/veggie consumption with the new plan, but anyone else who maybe started eating more fruit just to be healthier have you noticed that you are having much more frequent bowel movements?
I’m not complaining…I used to be a once every other day kinda gal, and that sucks royally…I just felt heavey and bloated like 95% of the time. But now I’m like at least once a day, sometimes twice a day, and the only thing that I know has changed is I eat a TON more fruit then before.
Did anyone else notice this? Or am I crazy?
Sorry for the Too Much Information, hahaha, I warned you in the post title though!

Nope thats what happens you eat more fruits and vegetables – its the fiber! Dont eat too much fruit though. Too much fruit = diarrhea!

@PitBulLover: We have not gotten to that point yet, lol. If I start getting to that point I’ll cut back…even though grapes have become like crack to me. A cold, crisp grape is my FAVORITE!

@PitBulLover: I have my daily fruit salad sitting in the fridge waiting for it to be at least 10 am (I break up snack times to make my workday go faster, hahaha) that is grapes, canteloupe, and a little bit of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries…yummmmm

Haha, yes that is normal. Have you ever seen “You are what you eat” on BBC America? In it the host asks the participants to poo, and then she inspects it. She is most irritated when the participants say they only go every other day, so thay cannot produce for her. It is better to be going more frequently, so congrats! Looks like you are doing well!

Hey @MandaMack, yeah, that’s perfectly normal and to be expected with increased fruit/veggie intake. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m pretty on-the-clock every day a couple hours after I wake up. Every now and then I’ll be twice a day.
Just out of curiosity, where does quaker oatmeal fall in with WW? I eat that just about every night when I’m at work, and I find it helps with my BMs. …haha tmi? sorry.. ๐

Your body will adjust – don’t cut the fruit out! Or if you do, do so in a way that lets you ease it into your diet instead of going full force. You probably won’t ever go back to every-other-day, but your body should regulate so that you’re more regular, consistent, comfortable with your poo schedule. ๐
Anyone else looking for an easy way to add fiber (besides fruit) – try Fiber One cereals and other products. I love them!!

@jindc: thanks! Yes, just plain ol’ quaker oatmeal, but I put in a little bit of honey. Or if not honey, I’ll put in some frozen berries. ๐

It’s a good thing! The fiber in fruit and veggies acts like a broom, sweeping out the muck in your GI tract. But don’t overdo the fruit, or you might have tooooo frequent bowel movements. Some fruits are too watery to be consumed in large quantities.
Sorry if this is Too Much Information, but Darling Husband loves fruit and if I don’t stop him he will eat through an entire fruit bowl in one go, and get the runs! The last time I wasn’t watching, he ate a whole watermelon by himself. An hour later, I was saying, “YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!! WHY DO YOU EAT SO MUCH FRUIT??!”

@jayce: YES! My Fiance does the same thing with some fruits, mostly grapes. He will eat almost a full bag of grapes if I let him…then spend the next day in the mens room ๐
