I have a doctor appointment in a couple of days but meanwhile, I want to see if I can get any feedback from any bees who may relate. My periods have gotten inclreasingly painful over the last 8 months or so, with (TMI alert, so sorry) pretty significant clots happening. They have gotten heavier over these past few months also and like I said, the pain is noooo bueno. I’m wondering if I could have endometriosis? Does this sound familiar to anyone? Obviously my doctor will be able to help me get to the bottom of this but in the meantime, I just wanted to see what the bees had to say!

That sounds exactly like my periods used to be! I ended up having polycystic ovary syndrome (cysts growing on the ovaries) and endometrial hyperplasia (uterus lining was way too thick). I trialled the pill, which didn’t help, but was then put on the contraceptive rod. The rod stopped my periods – it stopped my eggs from coming out, which stopped cysts forming, and because the eggs weren’t released, my uterus lining didn’t form either. I’ve been pain free for 4 years now on the rod!
So they are another two things it could be. Good luck to you, I hope it all goes well. That level of pain is awful.

The pain associated with my endometriosis has me completely bed bound for the first three days. It is not like bad cramps, it is excruciating.
Polysystic ovaries perhaps? Cysts on your ovaries will generally cause very sharp pains though.
What k8nd of pain do you have?

I have very bad cramps – cramps that I can only imagine as labor pain. I’ve never had a baby and in reality, I know labor is much more painful but it’s what I think of. I don’t think I ever have very sharp pains unless I do and mistake them for gas. It’s definitely something I’ll bring up with my doctor.
Thank you for the feedback ladies!
