@Coral99: Oh I tried on a few Tacori and while I loved loved loved them they just did not match my finger. I even went to Jared’s and tried on their Neil Lane sets, praying that maybe they would work for me because they were STUNNING. When Darling Husband took me to the store the last time I didn’t want to go. I didn’t think it would be any different, but as luck would have it, Darling Husband was able to figure out what I didn’t like about the rings I was trying on, and to be quite honest, when I first saw my ring in the case I did not think I would like it, but on my finger it was perfect. I’m sure it is different for everyone, but for me, the reason I loved solitares is because the band on a traditional solitare is plain, and the reason I loved halos is because it makes the center stone stand out. I just wasn’t able to visualize that, but had to give Darling Husband props for that.
As for wedding band, I’ve got a very thin band with teeny tiny diamonds all around it. I ended up wearing stand-ins for my wedding band too. Thought I wanted plain the same thickness as my e-ring band. Then I thought diamonds the same thickness. Then I thought maybe a twisted band with plain and diamonds together. In the end I saw a picture of a ring similiar to mine with this very petite wedding ring. It’s subtle and doesn’t detract from the ring, and to me, balances out the sparkle of the halo nicely.
Oh and I got married in July of 2012, I am just too lazy to change my date, I always forget.

@Coral99: I didn’t do this, I unfortunately didn’t think of it. BUT I think it’s a great idea!
A new ring is an expensive commitment and it’s nice to certain that you’ve picked the right size/style. I just scanned the other comments, so I apologize if this is redundant… Have you found berricle.com yet? They have some beautiful stand ins I’ve seen on here. Lots of choices, and you can search based on style/stone shape/size. It’s pretty cool. I’m going to order something from there just as soon as I can make a choice…
Good luck with your hunt!

@LynnSnow: I had the same issue with Tacori. I was sad. They just didn’t fit my finger. This is the original Tacori I drooled over, until I tried it on. It was too bulky and my fingers didn’t “close”. So now I’m convinced it’s that my fingers are too fat or chubby.

@Coral99: I got a stand-in while we had my ering on layaway. Well, the ring we had on layaway was a princess quad halo w/side stones and my stand-in was a cushion halo with side stones. I loved my stand-in so much that we ended up cancelling the layaway (got a full refund) and found a new ring similar but bigger than my stand-in.

@Coral99: I went to JCP, Kohl’s, etc. and tried on all their $20 CZ rings. That really helped me to figure out the size stone I wanted (I decided on 1.25). Buy a couple that are your top picks…it’s very helpful!

@Coral99: Beautiful ring! But it was the same with Neil Lane, or any thick metal. I wanted my fingers to be able to “close” side by side, and sadly with a lot of “stand ins” the metal was a lot thinner (now I am not talking about band width, I am talking depth here) so be mindful of that too. I think maybe it has something to do with how the diamonds have to be set into the band, making the depth of the band thicker. My petite band is a bit thicker, but I am JUST barely able to make my fingers close so it works. Also, it is SOOOO hard to feel how much room your fingers will actually HAVE if they ring isn’t in your size. I hope the best for you!

@NovaRising: Oh nice! What a lovely story. Do you have a pic? Would love to see.
@ceebree: Thank you. This is very helpful and smart advice. 🙂
@LynnSnow: I too wanted my fingers to “close”. That was huge for me. Thanks for the well wishes! When I finally get it, I will post!

@Coral99: I think it’s such a smart choice to test drive a ring before commiting to one and trying a few cz options will give you an idea of what works and what doesn’t..I just searched “round halo cz” on amazon and found a couple that look similar but unfortunately font have links for you since it’s an app on my phone. The first one is only $8! And the second is $43 from berricle, I haven’t owned one of their rings but they have some really positive feedback!! Good luck!!!
