I’m a newlywed and have been on the pill for about a year, we are by no means trying ttc. I am, uh, not that good at taking the pill at the same time everday and i think i might be pregnant.
The last time i had my period was early/mid september and i just stopped my pill and light spotting but no period. the last few days i have had Terrible back pain and cramps, and the last two weeks or so i have been so so so exhausted, this weekend i spent 4 hours sleeping on both saturday and sunday in the middle of the day. I took a pregnancy test on last Thursday that read negative.

Did you take your pregnancy test first thing in the morning? I’ve heard that’s the best time to take them. Later on in the day, you are more likely to get a false negative. I’d take another one tomorrow morning.
If that one is negative, I would still go ahead and make an appointment with a doctor to see what’s going on. They’ll probably test you for a few things, including thyroid problems. Also, if you’ve started any new medications in the last couple month, perhaps your exhaustion is caused by that.

I agree that you should probably take another test first thing in the morning. However, I took both my tests in the middle of the day and I found out with both that I was pregnant.
If you do get another negative and still haven’t had a normal period you should probably see your doctor.

Did I read right that you had stopped taking your pill? For some (myself included) when stopping the pill it can cause a change in your cycle. I know for me, it showed up after a month and a half. It could be your body tyring to “right” itself after the pill. But, seeing a doctor is always the best choice!

I took a pregnancy test in the afternoon and it was positive (and correct) so I wouldnt worry about that too much. Home pregnancy tests are *usually* pretty spot on, so if it’s negative then I would assume that to be correct, but if your concerned either do another test or see a GP. It just sounds like your body trying to regulate itself 🙂

I would take another test or go see your doc. I took four home pregnancy tests that came back negative. I went to the doctor two weeks later and finally got a positive test. I’m not saying you are pregnant but not knowing what was going on with my body drove me crazy for those few weeks.

could be, but it could just be being out of sorts w/ the wedding stress and inconsistency of taking the pill
I’d make sure to take some vitamins *just in case*.

If you are pregnant, the cramps and back pain could be signs of a miscarriage. You should see a doctor and find out what’s going on.

It is possible to get a false negative on a home pregnancy test. I would go see your doctor to be sure. A blood test is a better reading for women who have lower HCG levels in early pregnancy. You are most likely not pregnant, but it is always better to be sure!
