Would pure coconut oil work? That’s what we use. I don’t use any store bought type lubes.  I’m sensitive down there and anything can throw my PH off, but Coconut oil has never been a problem!

Astroglide is a classic water-based gel you can get anywhere.

If you prefer something slicker, Pink Cherry makes a nice waterbased meant for anal, but works great for everything, is a very thick liquid that lasts.

Both safe with latex and with toys

Oh and if you are ok with going to a sex shop they usually have samples or at least trial sizes. I would look for a thick waterbased one designated anal, as I said, I feel they have the best texture and last, and usually fragrance color etc free.

Definitely check out Sliquid. They have an organic line which feels really nice and lasts. They also have a nice anal lube, sassy, which is super cushy.

Seconding Sliquid! It’s super-benign (no weird spermicidey stuff) and you can use it with latex condoms and silicone toys alike. Cleans up easily, too (my main issue with silicone lubes).

Third vote for Sliquid. I prefer the one in the pink bottle..not as runny and stays longer than the original blue bottle.

elliebee357 :  So, I had to have a hysterectomy a couple years ago, so hormonal changes have completely eliminated any natural lubrication for me.

I’ve tried a nearly endless combination of lubes – natural like Vitamin E and Coconut oil, along with silicone and water-based – and personally, I have found that I prefer using an internal vaginal moisturizer over any lube I’ve ever been able to find. Replans makes one that works really well.  You do have to plan ahead a bit, since it needs to go in prior to intercourse and have time to… melt – I find doing it at least an hour before is ideal, but it can go in much earlier in the day and be just as effective – and it’s safe with latex condoms.

I tried every kind of lube left right and center, and had all the problems you described. No matter what kind of lube we tried, it always seemed to dissipate too quickly. The vaginal mosturizer seems to do more to mimic a natural state of affiars downtown, which is nice not only during sex, but to relieve the sensitivity and irritation I was feeling from the overall dryness.

I have also used it in conjuction with a silicone based lube and had better results than just lube alone. I use Uberlube, in those cases.

Man-Nuo works great for me. No parabens, hypoallergenic, water based, able to use with condoms, it doesn’t dry out easily and when it starts to all you need is a little saliva and you’re good to go for another long time. Doesn’t get crusty. Doesn’t stain your sheets. Doesn’t have a taste really and it’s kind of sweet (not flavored by any means). Pump bottle that looks like lotion so it’s discreet and you don’t have to worry about cross contamination. We used to use PUR organic lube but have since moved on to coconut oil.  NO problems here and no sticky mess
