I used feathers as decor, rather than flowers… and there was a slight pheasant-y theme.. lol

..and the dog on our topper was hold a pheasant in his mouth (which a lot of my guests thought was cute πŸ˜‰ )

The one thing everyone could not stop talking about was our view, which is why we chose our venue so I guess it might count?

We had a bouncy castle!  It was amazing.  We rented bloomers for the evening so even people with short dresses could go on.  It was lots of fun and everyone commented on how they loved it. The other two unique touches we had were because my husband roasts coffee for a living.  So, I used his used coffee sacks to make the boys boutonniere’s and bunting for decor.

Unfortunately my photographer did not get a shot of my memory table which I’m really bummed about but at least one of my guest thought about taking a picture of it.

@b00kbug:  I believe it is your shark ring-bearer I have pinned to my Wedding Porn board πŸ˜‰ I cannot remember where I found the picture originally, but suffice it to say, I love it and it’s wild to bump into the bride here who did it πŸ™‚

A few more days and I will have pics of mine! Commenting so I can come back and show you ladies

1) My dress – Im sure there are others very similar but it is actually one of a kind!

2) Our marriage box ceremony, I haven’t seen too many others on the bee do it (different from the wine box for first fight/5 yr anniversary)

3) Our boutenniers –  again not 100% original but different!

4) Our groomsmen’s shirts LOL

5) My bridesmaid attire – the pieces aren’t exactly original but together they are a bit different!

6)Our DIY photo booth

7) Our cake lol

8) The way we are doing our entrance, toasts, and dance order. Haven’t heard of anyone else doing them “backwards” the way we are! Probably someone has, but ya know.

9) Rock and Glow bowling after party! Whoop Whoop!

@misshydra:  I had a friend who had a lot of young kids at her wedding and she rented one as well – the adults used it just as much!!! So fun!!! Clever about the bloomers you are one thoughtful bride!

We had a candy-themed wedding with a LOT of unique/original components!  I would imagine the “most original” aspect would depend on who you ask, but here are some of the things that were mentioned repeatedly to me by guests!

First of all, our invitations were very different…candy bars with a golden ticket inside!

We also had a pretty cool ride…a lime green classic car!

People also loved our “Welcome Table”.  It had a cupcake card box that we made ourselves, and some pretty unique substitutions for a guestbook.  We took the Candyland game board and made it into a poster, and asked our guests to sign a square.  We also asked them to contribute a “recipe card” with a fun memory, kind thought, or piece of advice to our “Happy Marriage Recipe Box”, which we will open on our first anniversary!  πŸ™‚  Here are a couple of pics of that table.

People had a blast with our “Kissing Gumball Machine”, too!  Pink or green, and we kissed for everyone…but blue or orange, and the hapless guest who turned the knob had to kiss someone else in front of the whole room!

Everyone (us included!) loved our candy-themed cake, and pictures on either side of each of our parents on their own wedding day.  πŸ™‚

And, last but not least, people LOVED the fact that all of our guests who were not from Newfoundland had the opportunity to get “screeched in” and become true Newfoundlanders…which involved eating some bologna (Newfie steak), kissing a real cod fish, and taking a shot of screech rum.  It was fun, and our new honorary Newfoundlanders were so proud!  πŸ™‚

A wonderful time was had by all!  πŸ™‚
