My wife and I each had two attendants at our wedding. Since they are all equally as important to us, we wanted to find out a way to use a honor title for each of them (and ones that weren’t too crunchy granola ridiculous).

My wife’s attendants were the “Best Woman” and “Man of Honor” and mine were the “Lady of Honor” and “Best Ma’am“. To this day I love that Best Ma’am title. It cracks me up and fits because I do call her Ma’am in our everyday life. Wedding party titles were tricky for us and the first three came so easily but we couldn’t figure out a gender-appropriate fourth (it would have been so much easier if I had had a guy… too bad that boys are few and far between in my friend-pool).

And here’s a pic of me and the Best Ma’am for good measure. Laughing

@FoolsintheRain:  Oh gosh no! We had a decor/floral company do the entire set up/decorating of the venue.

@joya_aspera:  Thank you. It was a combination of fresh and fake. Fresh on top and fake on the bottom to give it volume.

No picture of it but the most original thing was the food. It was amazing! We served it family style using family china from both of our families and had the most tender roast beef and a halibut recipe was created by a top chef and their fish expert just for our wedding. Second would be our venue, it’s a mansion from the Cival War era remodeled at the turn of the century. They normally have mostly business events and have only had a handful of weddings. The venue coordinator said ours was the most elaborate ones they’ve done even though we only had 40 people. The photo is from the Best Woman’s phone, you can see our photog on the stairs ๐Ÿ™‚

@MissA_to_MrsA:  thanks!!  It was one of the few wedding ideas that I had firmly in my head from the beginning, and it all hinged on finding flowers in the stores up there at exacty the right time.  Luckily it was New England in the summer and that is like their official flower or something, hahaha.

Purple hydrangea are gorgeous!!  those should look really decadent in your bouquet!
