We did two outfits – I had my favorite dress and he wore jeans and a nice button down for the first set. Then we changed into more casual outfits – I wore jeans and a black & white top and he changed into his favorite polo. ๐Ÿ™‚ I also put my hair up. Lol

I bought a vintage wedding dress on ebay, and then I made some alterations on it for our enegagement photo session. I made the lace cap from some fabric I bought at Michaels.

The theme of my engagement pictures is “timeless romance”, so the idea is love from different time periods (it’s going to be a series of pictures).

Our photographer was Jhovany Quiroz (http://www.quirozphotography.com). He is a true artist and comes HIGHLY recommended.

@elliestan: Your outfits are sooo Kate Middleton!!! At first, I could’ve sworn they were magazine photos of her, especially the first one ๐Ÿ™‚ I love her style, and yours too!!

We’re doing part 1 of our engagement photos Friday! I will be wearing the dress below with a black belt instead of brown and Fiance will be wearing khaki shorts and a black shirt. We’ll be near/in a river. ๐Ÿ™‚

@MademoiselleL: I went for the same thing (as most ladies do) and selected a casual jeans + top outfit, as well as an ensemble with a dress.  Unfortunately, we live in Seattle and it rains straight up until July so I couldn’t walk around in just a dress – I was freezing even with the jacket haha.

@HnyBee: I positively adore all of your outfits!  That black skirt and ruffled tank is just stunning on you.

This one was taken at an old coffee shop! I am wearing a grey knit sweater, black pants, and black boots.

I would have loved to take outside pictures without any jackets but it was -35C so we didn’t dare! Wearing a plaid jacket with a white scarf.

Whoa! I was wondering the same thing…trying to figure out what to wear for our engagement photos. I noticed majority of you are wearing multiple outfits. Is that necessary? I had no idea you should do multiple outfits.

@AntsyA: Multiple outfits are totally not necessary – a lot of couples choose to do them, though, just to keep the photos interesting and have an array of finished photos to choose from.  Wearing different outfits in combination with varying backdrops/locations/settings make for very different results in photos.  I made a particular effort to ensure that our outfits didn’t clash or make our photos look “busy,” but I also wanted them to compliment the locations and the other’s outfit.

In general, though, when struggling with what to wear for engagement photos, most would advise to choose one more “casual” ensemble (jeans and a nice top), and then a more “dressy” outfit (heels, dress or skirt, etc).  The decision is yours, though – you can wear just one outfit, or five… totally up to the couple and the photographer. =]

We did two outfits and I want to show them, soooo I blocked out our faces since I’m a little ‘noided out by putting our faces on here with no privacy and all…

More casual:

Then we just switched out our shirts(and my jewelry and shoes!) to dress it up a bit.
