For an informal wedding I really don’t have a problem with a postcard invitation. Without seeing it, I can’t judge, but it has the potential to be cute I think.

Maybe they are trying to cut costs, but maybe they just liked the idea of postcards. Who knows.

I think it’s fine! As long as it included all the needed info, I think it’s not a problem at all.

I personally would be a little hesitant just because I think postcards get lost in junk mail too easily, but that’s me?

How did they handle RSVPs? I’m considering doing them online even though I’ll have traditional invitations.

I wouldn’t.   I’d be afraid people would throw them out or they’d get mixed in with other mail and overlooked.

how do you RSVP to a postcard invite?

They may just be on a tight budget and didn’t want to pay for envelopes and all the other cards that go with it? I personally wouldn’t do it though and I don’t see why they didn’t just make a wedding website so guests could RSVP there.

@Loribeth:  Just because you are in the top 10% of wage earners doesn’t mean you want to waste money on invitations.  So no, that does not change my opinion.

Are you upset that they didn’t send formal invitations?

@Tiffner:  That looks so nice!

My thoughts are that it’s their wedding and if they want postcard invites, then do postcard invites! Our wedding RSVPs were postcards. Saved us a ton on stamps!
