It is less expensive for postage and it can be less expensive card wise. It just depends on the kind of design and cardstock that you use. A lot of brides are choosing to use postcards for STD’s and RSVP cards.

I would check out vistaprints.. they are really inexpensive for postcards… google free vistaprints postcards and you can get 100 of them for the price of shipping only… I chose the slowest time and they still arrived in less than 10 days-2 weeks.. very good quality- I think postage was like 28 cents or something for each one..

Good Luck!

I did post cards for my RSVP’s.  I think they’re pretty common.  I designed everything for my invitations and had them printed with thermographic ink.  I think my post cards were 3×5 & the postage was 28 cents for each one.

I used them for Save-The-Date Cards and now I’m using them for my RSVPs that I sent out Friday. The polar bear stamp aside, it saved me a ton of money since I had to send out 140 invitations.

I plan to do postcards for my RSVP’s, and just have Kinko’s print them up for me on card stock, along with the other stationary I need.

Here’s a chart from the USPS about size requirements of postcards.  As long as you keep your postcards within that size, you can mail them for only $.28 each.

Also make sure the address and stamp are on the right hand side of the post card, and the message is on the left.  🙂

Nola– there is an option to design your own and one to use a template.. I’m not using mine for my STD’s but I’m going to be using an engagement picture for our thank you cards for the bridal shower and a wedding photo (probably one where we’re holding us “thank” and “you” in the picture or one that says “thank you” in the sand) for our wedding thank you cards… Fiance and I have my heart set on magnet STD’s from vista prints (very reasonably priced)
