Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.  Most of the ornaments and the tree skirt were made by me!

@CarolinaCola:

Gotta start somewhere right? When we first moved in together we invested in VERY cheap ornaments from Target and the local dollar store. When you have to cover a 9 foot tree it can really add up!

We made it our thing to get an ornament from every place we go and after six years of collecting we have now replaced all the cheaper ornaments with nice ones that mean something.

It is a great way to get a varied and higher end collection without spending a huge chunk of cash. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s a fake tree, which makes me sad, but it’s still quite nice. My nieces decorated it last night. And I had to share this gorgeous wrapping paper I found at TJ Maxx yesterday. It’s not cheap ($3.99 for 30×10′) but this picture doesn’t do it justice. It shimmers and shines, and is embossed.

@Treejewel19: Yeah, we just got a couple packs from Lowe’s, which is where we got our tree. I think we’ll definitely start collecting nice ornaments. There’s something here called The Festival of Lights that happens every year and there are little shops that sell nice Charleston/South Carolina themed ornaments, and there are artisans there that will personalize them for you. I told Fiance that I definitely want to get one for us when we go this year. I can’t wait to have a full collection of our own!

Oh, but we did finally get a star for the top today!

It’s nowhere near as pretty as every other tree posted on this thread, but it’s ours ๐Ÿ™‚
