I made the ever popular paper cone backdrop to hang behind us during our ceremony. It’s almost finished I just need to attach it to a dowel and then decide if I’m going to make a stand for it or figure out a way to hang it from the ceiling in the ceremony space.

I hand painted the stripes and letters (this was just a tester, so not sure I’ll paint the letters) and then we’re going to do an iron transfer that’ll have a seahorse silhouette and our name and location on it. That will be in brown.

The biggest pain was doing the invites. I did half of them following a tutorial before I realized it was better to do them another way. Grrrr! I still have to put a blue ribbon around it and we have to print out the actual invite and inserts. I’m going to put a small piece of Velcro down, so the invite wI’ll be remove able. We also need to add some type of fixture on the point of the flap.

annainweddingland:  Thank you so much 🙂 The wedding was in September. The centerpieces and plate chargers were done in May. The backdrop and most of the signs were done even before that because I made many to display in our home. But the specific ones, like “restrooms” and such were done a few weeks before. The photo albums were super time consuming but it’s a hobby of mine anyway, but when my FI’s grandmother (who raised him) died, I inherited an enormous box of pictures she had meant to scrapbook but never did. So I played catch up and made three or four scrapbooks to represent FI’s entire life and I had to cut it pretty close with the last one.

We really didn’t have much to do last-minute! The windows with pictures was last-minute (like the week of, because many were family photos so we were waiting on family to come to town with them) and flowers were arranged the night before. The wedding took up so much of my time for a whole year and now I’m like … hmm what to do with all this time!

wanabeabee:  I may have to steal the frame idea. I did not even THINK of using other cheap frames and spray painting them the color I want.

annainweddingland:  I would choose one major thing you know you want for sure (like for us: wood) and start brainstorming ways to incorporate it and get started on that.  The other details will fill in.  Peruse Pinterest and wedding blogs and such and pick and choose smaller tasks from there.  You might start with centerpieces – I feel like that’s where all of our decor branched from!

These aren’t completely finished yet, but kinda close…

Here are the inspiration for our signs

and the arrow feathers before my mom cut them

I did my bouquet with a mixture of sola & silk flowers, and brooches

We did our own Save the Dates & will be doing the rest of the invitation suite as well. Here is a STD

1st project: pom poms and amigurumi hearts instead of rice or confetti. The poms will also line the aisle (if I have enough). I only have a picture of the peach ones right now. The hearts are complete and the pompoms for the toss are complete but the ones for the aisle are in progress (they got moved to a lower priority).
