I’m new to WeddingBee and have never posted before (although I’ve spent a lot of time looking at ring porn…LOL!)
There’s so much B.S. going on out there about the size of the diamond in everyone’s Engagement Ring. I think it’s TOTALLY ridiculous.
I LOVED my almost .5 ctw (.23 ct center stone and .25 carats along the sides) marquise e-ring when my Fiance gave it to me back in December of 2011. It was delicate and feminine. But then, when I started reading some of the posts on these boards, I got totally discouraged. Some women think their 1.5 ctw rings are small! I began to think, “Well, if their’s are small, then what is MINE?!” All of my engaged or married friends have “larger” center stones than mine, as well.
This REALLY started to get under my skin…until…I began finding boards on here that reminded me of WHY I’m wearing a ring on my left hand in the first place:
I’M MARRYING THE MAN OF MY DREAMS!!!!!!!
My ring is beautiful, but my relationship is MORE beautiful! We are not rich (I’m a teacher, he’s a painter) and we work for everything that we have. This ring is something that he designed. He picked the diamonds out, one by one, and had the jeweler mount them in the setting. He thought of ME when he was doing it. And that’s what truly matters.
So bring it on, ladies! Show me YOUR e-ring that was given to you by the man of your dreams! All shapes, sizes, colors, cuts…because they each mean the same thing regardless of what they look like! <3

@MrsAmyBeiber: I’m a teacher too!
My diamonds were generously given to me by my mother in law from her mother. Without these, I think I’d be wearing a Cracker Jack ring with pride. The center and the halo are from my mother in law and the stones on the shank came from an old ring of my mother’s that she hated and didn’t want. This picture was taken in the dark and it sparkles wonderfully in the sun, I’ve posted pix of it in the sun before on here, but I love this pic of it in the dark.

This is the ring that my husband proposed with. I had it reset because the original setting hurt my finger, but that doesn’t change how much I love my husband (or how much he loves me.)

It’s absolutely perfect for me in every way shape and form. Fiance doesn’t know I know where he hid the matching wedding band, every week or so I sneak in and put it on for a minute or two 🙂 My e-ring is getting aweful lonely 🙂
