I switched to nuvaring after the wedding (was on the pill for years before that). I like that I only have to worry about it once a month. No significant weight gain or moodiness.

I am currently on nuvaring and love it, however.. I went off of it about a yr ago and gained 15 pounds in a very short amount of time. It’s pretty common if you google it. This terrifies me! But if you plan on being on it for along time, it may not be an issue. Other than that, no complaints!

Voted IUD. I have Mirena and its amazeballs. No problems with it to date. Just this past week I’ve been having mild discomfort during sex (it must have moved a bit) we just change positions and its all good!

You sound like you’re in a similar situation to me. I’m getting Mirena put in in a couple of weeks which is a good solution, lasts five years and no chance for user error like the pill!

I’ve been using the pill for years. It’s meant to be used as a stand alone birth control.

Maybe you could consider using nuva ring or something you only need to mess with once a month, since you have trouble taking the pill consistently?

Just a suggestion….when I was on BC I set a reminder to go off at the same time everyday to remind me to take the pill. I remembered on my own, but it was just in case. I also set up an automatic RX refill on Walgreens’ website. It automatically refilled it for me every month. It reminded me to pick it up a few days before I ran out.
