- Wedding: August 2014
Fiance and I have a strange situation.
Our families are meeting for the first time at the wedding (which I know may be a little more common than I think), so it was suggested that we do a fun day at Disneyland after the wedding. Our wedding is on a Friday night, so guests were all planning on staying to hang around Cali the next day anyway.
Since this is an optional event, should we pay for the guests who decide to go? Or should it be one of those, the couple is going to Disneyland and it would be cool if you came too, type of invitations.
We were even thinking about getting our photographer to join us just to take a few candid shots of the families together.
It’s a destination wedding for everyone as we’re spread out all over the world, so I’m loathe to ask them to pay for more things, but our budget has no room for the 20+ Disneyland admission tickets. Even at the group rate, it’s still cutting it.
What do you think?
Should I offer it as a pay-your-own-way optional event?
Should I foot the bill myself for those who wish to attend?
