I did not expect to be this tired after the wedding!
We got married on Sunday and went back to work yesterday and OMG, the exhaustion! I’ve heard of post-wedding blues but never post-wedding exhaustion! I was so tired all day at work (and I had 383 emails and 62 voicemails to get through!), then I came home, fell asleep on the couch, got groceries, made dinner, and fell asleep again, last night I slept like a rock and I’m still tired. My husband said he feels the same way.
Did anyone else feel this tired after their wedding?

I was exhausted the two days afterwards. The day after was the worst and we both were exhausted, which meant that we both were grouchy and unpleasant. We went on our honeymoon two days after the wedding so that helped because we could sleep or go to the beach and just decompress.

My birthday was the day after our wedding, and Darling Husband parents had a big house party. I was so exhausted that I couldn’t enjoy it at all! I ended up going to bed while everyone was still partying away.

@orchidaloha: I was completely exhausted after the wedding. I was so exhausted that two days after our wedding I ended up getting a sinus infection that led to the flu then to bronchitis. I was in and out of work for a week. (I went directly back to work since we’re doing our honeymoon in a few months.) I only felt back to my normal self yesterday. I loved my wedding but I am so glad it’s over!

Thanks for the replies ladies! It’s nice to know I’m not alone

I know that will happen to me, that’s why we’re leaving for the honeymoon ASAP. I am not going back to work for over 2 weeks after the wedding!
I can imagine it must be so draining. And then people at work are probably wanting to hear all about.

In the 4 days leading up the wedding (we got married on a Saturday), I slept MAYBE 15 hours. The day after our wedding, I slept until 11a at the hotel, went back to our apartment and took a 3 hour nap, went to bed early and then slept most of the way to TN for our honeymoon on Monday! It was crazy!

@orchidaloha: We spent the first 3 days of our honeymoon sleeping. Seriously, probably like 16-20 hours/day. There was so much excitement, emotions, stress, etc. the week of the wedding and we hardly slept the night of the wedding, so when it was all over we were exhausted.

we didn’t have time to be tired.
our wedding was amazing, ended at midnight and we continued the party a little after that.
had brunch at 8:30 the next morning.
packed on sunday and monday morning, and left for our honeymoon monday afternoon.
we walked and ate all over italy. we were certainly tired when we got home.
we were so glad to come home on a friday night that we had all weekend to receover.

@orchidaloha: YES. My wedding was the 8th (Friday) while my reception was the 9th (Saturday), and I am still recovering. I gave myself Sunday and Monday off and returned to work on Tuesday, but this exhaustion is scary. I’ve been passing out on the couch at around 9 pm, which I have never done before. Granted, I’m 30, but that’s not that old to be feeling 85.
I told my Darling Husband (Are you getting used to that term as well???) that we are going to be staying in for the next couple weekends, and I will seriously recover then (plus save $$$).

congrats! i’m so worried about this. we are having a destination so in theory, we should be VERY relaxed post wedding. we’re even stayin three days after our guests leave. but a week of nonstop partying with our friends/family AND a wedding thrown in there. i’m already tired just thinking about it!

I am worried about this as well. I have a problem with getting tired out and then sick (blah) I had this problem after a friend’s wedding. I’m hoping I don’t after my own…

It took me about a month to be able to catch up on cleaning and laundry and work- the wedding craziness and planning hype became so normal to me I didn’t realize how much it was taking out of me!

Yes! We didn’t go on our Honeymoon for a few weeks and thank goodness….we were so tired. Took me about a week to get back to normal!
