I’m scared of a couple of things!

    a) I just had my final dress fitting and she seems to have altered it juuust a touch too tight in the bust – so now I’m worried that at certain angles, or if I put my arms in a certain way, it’ll look like I’m too big for my dress. I of course didn’t say anything at the time because I’m a non-confrontational, meek idiot. I’m happy it stays up and I won’t be pulling at it all night, but is the trade off worth it?

    b) We’re still waiting on a pretty significant number of RSVPs, and our deadline was today. I’m worried we’ll have unexpected people showing, expected people NOT showing, and ending up with a far smaller wedding than we planned for (even though I’m grateful to all the people who ARE coming and looking forward to spending time with them)

    c) Falling on my face walking down the aisle. I wear heels every day, but for some reason I feel like with the dress and the runner-lined aisle, I’m going to trip and wipe out.

I’m scared of having bad back fat/ arm fat! When I bought my dress, she laced it perfectly and everything was smooth. I didn’t gain ANY weight. At my first fitting she laced it up so tight that I was super unhappy, but yet I’m the type that doesnt confront people. My sister keep reassuring me that she won’t lace it as tight, but something keep nagging me that ‘what if no matter what I’ll still have that back fat?’.

I am scared of the following:

    1. That it will rain;

    2. That Fiance won’t like my dress;

    3. That FI’s mother (who is not invited) will show up anyway and purposely ruin the day for us; and

    4. That people will be bored.

Not sooo irrational because I know at least 3 of them are not very likely to happen… rain, on the other hand, I cannot guarantee that that won’t happen. There is a high chance. We have a backup plan/room in case of wet weather but it’s not as nice as by the lake ๐Ÿ™

jaykwellan:  Don’t worry about your dress being altered too tight in the bust! I was so freaked out because mine was a touch too tight as well at my last fitting and she explained that it will stretch out pretty quickly on the wedding day. Just like when you wear jeans right after they’ve been washed and after moving around for like 15 minutes or half an hour they loosen up again ๐Ÿ™‚ I just tried to do some deep breaths to stretch it as quickly as possible and within the first 15 minutes of the appointment it was much looser. I made sure to ask her about it and she said they have to do that so it won’t end up stretching to be too loose on your wedding day. Try not to stress! ๐Ÿ™‚

    I’m scared that:

    a) I’ll feel super nervous and queasy before the ceremony and will have a tough time taking things in because I’ll be distracted by my tummy

    b) That things won’t come together as planned

    c) That it will either be wayyyy to hot and humid or that it’ll pour rain aha

    d) That the true beauty of the day won’t come through in photographs

    e) That my veil will blow around and look horrible or fly off my head since the ceremony is outdoors in a location that can get pretty windy.

    f) That I won’t be able to relax and be in the ‘moment’ and enjoy the day because I’ll be pulled in a zillion directions at once.

Oh and that I’ll gain a bunch of weight right before the wedding and my dress won’t zip up ahah or that I won’t be able to breathe in my dress and I’ll start panicing during the ceremony. I didn’t realise I had so many worries, but it feels good to name them all.

I’m terribly clumsy. I’m so afraid I’ll end up hurting myself before the wedding. I’m mostly afraid of breaking my leg or ankle.

It seems pretty irrational, but then I fell face first in the middle of 23rd Street (busy crosstown street near my apartment) right in front of tourist bus a week ago, so I wouldn’t be shocked if this actually happened! (I was fine, just some scrapes and bruises…and injured pride.)

    1. That it’ll rain. Everything’s outside and even though the reception area is tented, the ceremony area isn’t, and there is a terrifying extended forecast. We have contingecy plans for everything but I just really, really hope it doesn’t rain.

    2. That I’ll have missed some massive hole in the planning that won’t become apparent until it does.

    3. That I’ll get my period the day before, cause I don’t know about you ladies but the second day is the absolute WORST for me.

    webster:

    1. THINK POSITIVE.

    2. He will. Trust me.

    3. You can only control your own actions. If she does show up she’ll only make a fool of herself, not of you.

    4. Leave that in the hands of your DJ/iPod. If you’re really worried, be the first one on the dance floor and party like it’s 1999 – you never let a bride party alone so people are bound to join you ๐Ÿ™‚

Our wedding is this Saturday! Crazy. Here is my list:

    1. Suffering from one of my terrible migraines which will prevent me from enjoying the day, or worse, make me sick. I will be packing medicine for that but it doesn’t always work.

    2. Rain. While there is plan B for our outdoor ceremony, there was rain during our engagement shoot. It would be nice to have bright pictures this time, as well as being able to enjoy the outdoors. I am being obsessive over this and checking the weather forecast multiple times a day. It predicted rain a few days ago, then changed to sunny, then chance of showers. Aarrrggghhh.

    3. Being late. My mom decided to rent a limousine to drive us around with my bridesmaid to our hair and makeup appointment, then home to get dressed, then to the wedding location. Honestly, I don’t care for the limousine and would rather just have a regular car but she couldn’t be talked out of it. I am afraid the limo will get stuck somewhere. I even had a nightmare about the darn limousine and my own mom laughed at me after telling her about the dream (thanks for reassuring me). I planned out a schedule and allowed extra time to pick up everyone as well as extra time on the road so let us hope my nightmare won’t come true!

    4. My FH not liking the way I look and not liking the dress.

    5. Looking fat in the photos as well as looking fat in person. Not having any good photos of my FH and I.

    6. One of our parents doing or saying something or embarrassing or inappropriate in front of guests. A plan has already been established where my Maid/Matron of Honor is going to be on the lookout for my mom and take her aside if need be.

    7. Forgetting something or something not going as planned. I am our own planner/coordinator and have made a ton of spreadsheets listing everything from ‘things left to do’ to ‘schedules for the photographer, MC, limousine, bridesmaids, parents’ to ‘types of flowers and centrepieces and where they will be placed’. I hope things will go as smoothly as they can.

    8. Guests not having a good time.

Unlike other Bees, I just finished my periods so no worries about being stuck with those on the big day. Feeling pretty lucky in that regards.

I know my fears are most likely just fears. We have to think positively and things will all work out in the end! Want to enjoy my wedding as much as possible.

    1) I’m worried vendors won’t show/will screw up.  Particularly the company with soft serve ice cream machine (there goes 1/2 of the dessert bar!) and the DJ will completely ignore our playlist and totally mess up the ceremony music.

    2) I’m worried my guests are expecting too much (I throw a lot of parties) and will somehow be disappointed.  I worry they will not have a good time.

    3) I’m worried about the construction at my venue they just decided to start with no warning (ugh).

    4) I’m worried that I’ll worry too much and end up spoiling the days leading up to and the wedding itself.

MrsYoshida:  YES! I’m going to make sure to have a snack around that I won’t mind nibbling on if I’m not feeling the greatest. Hopefully that will keep my stomach from being too distracting aha.
