kflemin3:  So jealous your getting married in a castle, and a real castle at that!  We have some castles over here but they are all fake castles built cause castles are cool.

Oh this is a fun post!

Here was my home church that I got married in with decorations and the back of the dress:

Reception Venue (it was the location of a farm and they made a reception hall where the silo used to stand):

Inside of the venue (not my wedding) but we had the hanging lights which were cool.

ajbates:  Thanks, I’m pretty excited. It’s actually not super common here either, but this castle just happens to be owned by the city so one day a week they perform civil marriages there. It’s now a museum, so the rooms next door have a bunch of medieval weapons and torture devices displayed (so romantic ).

Here’s our ceremony venue (an old historic meeting house):

And our reception venue (a private club at the top of a skyscraper):

And my dress:

I think everything “went” together just fine – but I didn’t give it too much thought when I chose my dress.

  • Wedding: Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception/The Gallery

There are so many cool venues!

And annb9:  your wedding remains one of  my favorites on here, so beautiful!

This is our church, it’s the Cathedral for the diocese

And our venue, a few blocks away, in the heart of downtown

The balcony and the view

After party, a jazz club in the same building

And my dress

I wanted a classic, simple dress that would look timeless in the cathedral but could fit a more modern reception venue. Once the veil is off and I switch a few things up, this dress will be ready to dance.

Like a PP said, I didn’t go in expecting my venue and dress to “match”…I think they are very compatible, but both are my style! Here is my reception space (from another wedding), the ceremony will be outside on the patio. You also can’t see them in this picture, but there are huge arched windows that look out over a forest (it’s in a state park).

And here is my dress!

Lavender28:  I think we bought our dresses at the same place!

Ceremony Location will be:

And my dress (the sample – picking up MY dress this Saturday:))

Not really having a reception, just a cake cutting and toast for photos, and then a photoshoot along the beach and around the resort.

  • Wedding: March 2016 - Enoch Turner Schoolhouse

My ceremony and reception will be in one venue.  Historic School/Church in the Distillery district area in Toronto, Canada.

Chairs will be the dark brown ones in the first pic, not these white ones.  Our center pieces will include burlap runners along the center of the table, with doiley runners on top and vintage hardcover books and lanterns.  Main floral will be baby’s breath.  It will be everywhere – along the aisle, at the windows, on centerpieces, on the cake and bouquets.

My dress:

Vera Wang Gemma 🙂  It’s a bit wrinkled in the pics though.  I don’t think my venue and dress match, but I don’t care I can’t wait!  LOL

  • Wedding: November 2015 - City, State

My (newest) dress!!! My Fiance bought me this Mori Lee 2716 in the color pictrued from a bridal store online. Should be arriving Monday. Hopefully it fits since I’ve been losing weight but I read Mori Lee runs small.

Ceremony- His Catholic church (not many pics online, it’s very small and local).

Reception- Rustic looking country club.
