Here’s my venue. Wedding and reception at the same place

Ceremony is in the courtyard on the left of the barn. Will be using an arch as backdrop.

Reception is in the barn. We get choices with tablecloth color and lighting.

I don’t really know if my venue and dress actually go together. It never occured to me during the planning process, and I love them both enough that I don’t care.

Here’s my ceremony space:

And my reception space (which is a restaurant on the same property at the ceremony – I think it’s literally a 45 second walk!):

 

 

And my dress… going in for my first fitting in about nine days… we’ll see if I start to notice these 15 lbs I’ve lost then or not. >< (Can you tell I’m feeling the anxiety?)

Some amazing venues on here! 

We had a Catholic ceremony in a Baroque (18th C) church and I actually changed my original choice of dress – an impulse buy –  because it didn’t have a train, was quite casual and didn’t seem “grand” enough to walk down the aisle in:

We only found the venue much later after I’d already chosen my final dress. It’s a traditional rustic house/garden and we had the appetizers outside, and lunch in a very plain white timber gazebo in the gardens, then the cake and dessert buffet by the pool

Our venue:

We’re getting married on the lawn of an old military hall in one of the city’s harbour parks.

We’ve had a lot of rain over the past winter and a lot of the foliage that’s in front of the lawn isn’t there anymore (landslides and dead trees) so we’ve got even a better view of Sydney Harbour now; it’s like almost completely unobstructed.

Honestly, this venue would probably be better going with a rustic or shabby chic theme but since it’s nearly a blank slate, I’ve decided to throw caution to the wind and just make it my own. We’re looking to do a bit of an elegant theme.

What a fun thread!

Here is my dress – I am having lined sleeves added to it.

We are getting married at The Citizen Hotel in Sacramento!

Our Ceremony will take place in the downstairs ballroom.

Our cocktail hour will take place in the lounge.

And our reception will take place in the 7th floor terrace ballroom over looking the Capital.

I cannot wait! Everyone’s venues and dresses look amazing! What a fun and exciting time for all of us! Cheers to us, ladies!
