It’s hard to take a picture of it, but I have a gold necklace with all of my children’s intials on it.

Wow! What amazing gifts. The only bit of jewellery I have is my engagement ring and wedding band ha ha

You’ve been gifted many beautiful pieces. I wasn’t aware it was customary to be gifted fine jewelry! I have only ever seen wedding registries with items for the home etc., to help the newly weds start their new life together.

How amazing that gold looks ! Beautiful stuff, all of it .

(I also like it that you say ‘given’ and ‘gave’  instead of ‘gifted’ .  Its a minor thing, but I find it odd and irritating that the perfectly good verb ‘to give’ is being superseded by the awkward ( to me) use of the noun ‘gift’ converted into a verb )

betyl :  Just 100% curious and no snark intended whatsoever: What do you do with those gold pieces?? Do they spend like currency? Do you keep them as heirlooms?

Can you post a closeup of the necklace from your brother please? I love mixed metals and it looks really lovely.

Love the bracelet from your mom – such a statement piece and can be handed down to daughter/DIL on their wedding day.

What is that blue stone in the long necklace? Looks interesting.

I love your necklace in that last picture. It’s beautiful!

This ring belonged to my great grandmother. It was given to her by her children (including my grandmother).

My mother gave it to me so I could wear it on my wedding day. I hope to give it to my own daughter one day.

This bracelet belonged to my mother. Growing up, whenever she would go out I would sneak into her room and wear it until she got home. She eventually gave it to me, and I just love it. There are 17 very sparkly mine cut diamonds and the filigree is just so delicate! The photo does not do it justice.
