@Heidibrooke I’ve just seen your ring on this old thread – it’s beautiful. Do you mind me asking the carat weight and ring size?

Here is my Oval.  1.25 carat (ring size 6) 8.63mm x 6.23mm. G colour, VSI. 1/3 carat diamonds on band.  ***Be cautious when choosing colour grade in ovals.  Originally purchased a J diamond which looked great in sunlight and under store halogen light…but tint very noticebale in indirect indoor light.  Apparently a common issue in Princess cuts and Ovals, but NOT noticeable in round brilliants.  I sent it back and replaced with G colour.  SO MUCH better! (Original diamond 1.51 carat 9.19mmx6.50mm J colour VS2) I would recommend a smaller carat for better colour in an Oval.  Original diamond on left, replacement diamond on right. In the end, only 1/2mm difference in size.

Mine is a .75 ct (1.05 ct total) Christopher Designs Oval cut ring. I absolutely adore it.

Nikikita:  thanks! Sure thing – I’m just looking at the appraisal to renew my insurance πŸ™‚ ring size 6 and its a 2.08ct center stone E color SI2 (but only one visible under prong inclusion- white- otherwise loupe clean) measures 9.47×6.84 polish very good symmetry good no fluorescence – unfortunately I don’t know much about the setting’s specs (it was originally my grandmother’s setting he just got a new center stone) except that its white gold .20 cts of full cut stones (whatever that means – they look like little rounds) πŸ™‚

I love my oval diamond so much! It is 1.02 carat on a rose gold band. I think ovals look so classic yet different from the norm!
