Bees 🙂
We reached over 500 on part 9………………This is part 10..WELCOME!!!
Let’s please continue posting the picture of your replica dress and midproduction photos. Please post and help other bees reviewing replica wedding gowns.
Rules to keep this thread alive:
- Do NOT post links for specific designer names/styles
- Do NOT mention replica shop name, original dress names, style, designer etc.
Please do not mention the desginer name, orignal dress name or particular replica shop, PM other bees for questions on the name of the shop that made the replica (otherwise we will be shut down).
The comments made on this board are made to learn more about each experience and resolve questions and concerns for future bees, comments should not offend anyone. Every bee is different with her preference, style and taste. We want to help each other and that is what we are here for 🙂
Mr. Mouse mentioned previously after the boards where shut down:
“Bees are still free to share photos of themselves in their replica dresses, and even to recommend to other bees that they seek information about replicas (without mentioning a specific company or including a link to any replica websites). We’re not encouraging or discouraging anyone from choosing replica dresses, we are just not hosting the discussion on the site.” “Hi all! Just wanted to pop in and clarify a couple of things that some people seem to be confused about. 1.) To keep this thread and others like it from being closed, we ask that you do not mention any specific designer or dress names, whether you are referring to the inspiration dress/dressmaker or the company who is creating the dress. 2.) Please do not include any tags on the post with the names of designers or dresses. Thanks and carry on!”

Reposting my custom dress journey with Shop 2.0 because it was on the last pages of part 9:
My dress isn’t strictly a replica in that I combined the front and back of two dresses, and added a fixed sash from another dress I love. I mentioned in my earlier post that they embroidered the design for me and I really like how it turned out. The back especially is a nice surprise because I didn’t have a reference photo for how the pattern should look and left it to them.
I would say they did a good job of following through with my sketch, with the exception that they embroidered with a light pink thread instead of off-white as I had requested. But as I meant for the dress to have a blush hue anyway (layering off-white silk chiffon over light pink satin), I’m able to accept it.

I’m going to ask for a close-up of the beading because it doesn’t look like there’s a lot done. But I’m also kind of torn if I should just leave it subtle like this or ask for more pearls to be added.
I notice that the gaps between the buttons are kind of uneven right now, and they aren’t so much diamond-shaped but oval. Bees, do share anything else I might have missed, thank you!

Tagging to follow.
Here are my mid production beading pics.
Inspirations

Sample 1 (I couldnt see any of the glass beads), they had to point them out for me to realize there even were any.

So I asked for more visible crystals, and I used this chart

I went with B2, and here is the beading sample I just approved today. a tad different from the priginal, but I like sparkle 🙂

Whimsicalfate: Thank you for sharing pictures… This dress is a dream. So floaty and lovely and they did a fantastic job on the embroidery! Personally, I like the way the embroidery is now, if I was looking to add anything, perhaps some more pearls on the bodice to be more like the original 🙂
