Sugardrop:  I’ve noticed a lot of the replica photographs on the China websites aren’t all that great. But photos of models in designer dresses — they’re done up to the 9s. (And in sooo many of them they’re clearly standing on a stool, b/c they can’t possibly have legs that long. It just throws the eye off and makes the dress look more glamorous in a pic.)

Sugardrop:  I’ve never heard of a wotsit but I do know a good hoop skirt. I will google this. Thank you! I was thinking it might need some kind of interfacing, but a hoop might work perfectly!

Sugardrop:  Thank you! Yeah, I told everyone that I wanted a giant oversized bow and I think they thought I was kidding. Iwanteda bow wider than me. lol!

glenecho2015:  I totally agree about the photography! Even when you try on dresses in a boutique it’s still not as perfect looking as in the magazines. I think we just need to figure out that the magazines are fiction. So we have to go with what makes us *feel* beautiful!

I’m hoping that I like my dress better in person. The photos don’t do much for me at the moment.

My dress photos are in!!!

Ahead of schedule also-it wasn’t  supposed to be completed until mid-july.  I used the etsy shop that shut down, Linda’s shop. PM me if you want the new info.  My cost is $850 plus shipping-I am always curious about how much these dreses cost.

I think most of it looks really good-except that the lace overhang on the front is a bit long and uneven.  I don’t think it can be evenly trimmed, but maybe it can be moved so it is at least even? Any thoughts on the issue, or do you all see anything else to address?

Christina1015:  it’s beautiful! Can I ask, is the lace overlay white or ivory? And the main fabric under is champagne? I love the fullness of the bottom and the neckline.

njbride1102: Thank you! It is ivory over champagne.  The skirt is the reason I went custom-all the dresses I found in this style were well over 2 grand. I think it will bustle really well also!
